Hi Everyone, I’m Roxs and I’m excited to be here. I’m really looking for something to do that would supplement my income. WA came highly recommend so I’m excitedly optimistic. I’ve done nothing remotely close to this before.

I am originally from the Islands of Trinidad and Tobago. I was born in Trinidad but my mom being Tobagonian, moved the family to Tobago when I was 10. I went to high school there but returned to Trinidad as an adult to complete my education. I am a Licensed Massage Therapist. Prior to this I worked in accounting, in the health care industry for more than 10 years. Besides performing my duties as a Sr. Check Research Specialist-mainly auditing provider refunds and ensuring that claims were reprocessed to pay correctly, I trained managers, supervisors and team leaders on back end processing of claims using the accounting platform.

At the age of 44 I went back to school to become a Licensed Massage Therapist. Four years after my training was complete, I quit my job with the insurance company and returned to my country full time to promote my sports massage business. I am now back in the United States taking continuing education courses for my massage practice while working part time 3 days per week to finance my courses and practice my craft. I’m looking forward to returning to my family, home and business within the next year.

I discovered WA here in the USA and I'm excited and hope by the time I’m ready to return home I’ll be taking my new venture with me. As a massage therapist and one who provides sports massages I know how physically demanding my career is and I know too that my body may eventually not be able to keep up with this. So far in my 50's I'm still at it but I need to start thinking about my future, and a way I can maintain my standard of living without killing myself in the process, hence WA.

Besides my love of massage therapy, I sew, write, hike, read a lot, travel and spend time with my husband. We are empty nesters. I'm looking forward to my time here at WA, I can sense that this is truly a learning environment and I am grateful to Carson and Kyle and all the affiliates here who participate and make this site a success so much so that even a newbie can benefit. I am grateful for all those who have encouraged me or helped me thus far and I look forward to being the same to others. The spirit here is infectious. I look forward also to my future growth and being a part of others growth process as well.

I'm so proud to say I've just completed level 1. It took me about a week shy of a month but...….it's done. Website is up, indexed and working on more content. I've learned so much in this short space of time, it's mind boggling. I literally patted myself on the back. Wow! I built a website 🤭

Hi Roxanne,

These are great goals and I know that you will work hard to achieve them! One of the most important aspects of building a successful business is having goals so that you always have something to work towards!

Keep on taking action within the community as you have done here, you are well on your way!

I am here to help, so please let me know if you have any questions while you get started. I look forward to helping out!

Great goals. Follow the training and put in the time and hard work. These goals are achievable. All the best to you.
Sounds like really well set and realistic goals. Makes me want to rethink mine (though I expect that it will take time to get to mine). Keep up the good work!

Hi Roxanne, welcome to Wealthy Affiliate ("WA")!

Your income goals are quite modest, but that's good! Once you achieve them, you can set bigger goals to work toward.

20 hours per week is a wonderful amount of time to devote to your affiliate marketing business!

If you can ever work more hours per week, do. But, when you can't, don't worry - you can, eventually, have (great!) success.

Do these things and you WILL succeed!
* Take the Online Entrepreneur Certification courses in order. (Don't skip ahead, don't skip around).
(The ENTIRE first course is available to free members: all 10 lessons, not just the first one)!
* Take the action(s) each lesson instructs you to.
* Ask for help when you need it.
* Interact with your fellow WA members.
* Keep learning and practicing your skills.
(There's a LOT more training here, in addition to the Certification courses. You'll be AMAZED by the knowledge and skills you've gained in just your first year).
* Give yourself a gift worth more than gold: TIME. Give your business a minimum of 12 months, to build momentum and prove itself as a viable way to make money.
(ANY business, even an online one, takes time to build and grow. You're building something that will improve your life, for the rest of your life. That takes time, but it's time well-spent and it's absolutely worth doing).
* Refuse to give up on yourself.
(We're here to help you if you ever get confused or stuck. So, don't give up: you CAN do this)!
* Refuse to give up on your future.
(Your business WILL enable you to have the future you want - IF you don't abandon it).

That's it. Really. That's ALL you have to do to achieve the success you want.

Best wishes!

Sharon, it’s such a shame, but I’m now seeing your sound advice. Thank you so much for taking the time to spell things out and for me. I must say I’m well on the way and I’ve been taking the courses one at a time and in order.

It has been a lot of information to digest but believe it or not, I feel like I’ve been doing this a while now, though I’m absolutely new to affiliate marketing. I’m grateful for all the help.

Hi Roxs. It's wonderful to hear from you again. Thank you for your kind words and congratulations on your progress!

I certainly relate to feeling as if you've been doing this for a while. I felt the same way a few months after I joined.

Like you, I was new to affiliate marketing when I joined WA. I had a couple more challenges too - I'd never built a website before and I struggle to understand anything tech-related. So, the training was really difficult for me. I stumbled a lot. And yet...

... within a few months, I was able to discuss various affiliate marketing topics with people who had years of experience. And many (most!) of those topics were about things I'd never heard of prior to joining WA.

It's amazing, isn't it, how well WA and the WA community teach? Even though there's a tremendous amount to learn, WA & the WA community teach it in a way that even an absolute beginner can gain a deep understanding of it.

You're doing great and I'm delighted for you. Best wishes going forward and thanks again for coming back to this thread to reconnect with me! :)
