Hang in there. You've only just begun. when you get through the first ten training sessions, you will begin to understand. When you get into training level 2 it will begin to take shape rapidly.

You don't go from grade 1 to grade 12 in one jump. Must move through the numbers to get the complete picture.

Greets Eric:
The founders of WA were very careful to assure that if one follows the training to the letter, they will find success.

As to promoting WA, it is good practice and when your new member becomes premium you get a monthly credit toward your payment. If you get a few members in from your promotion, in effect your premium membership becomes free.

Also, from my point of view, this is a business for Kyle and Carson. Just like the owners of a local hardware store, you can't blame them for wanting to be financially successful, or at least pay the overhead.

This is a wonderful site and community and I have found many great friends from around the world. You couldn't make me quit with a two by four....

Dear BDF, Thanks for your thoughts. I guess I have a different idea. I am here to learn first, about creating and promoting websites to increase traffic to my amazon physical product site, and learn about affiliate marketing. I am more than happy to help people if I can. However, I don't know enough after less than two modules to be of much help, and also, adding a monetary element to it kind of changes the point. Medical students don't start making money until their skill level reaches a certain point, and they don't recruit people to become medical students for a fee. That's how I think about it. After perhaps 7 modules, where I have really seen the value and have much better experience, I would certainly encourage others to join. I have joined other groups, and value what I learned and made money from it. but I am also not ready to tell people to 'go for it' with those either. I am already paying for the training, which is fine with me. I am willing to wait to recommend others to join, if and when I meet them. One last point is that my focus must be on my core business which is selling physical products. That is, ranking those sites. So I don't worry about ranking in a community. I just don't think that way. I mind my own business, help when I can, but don't worry about reaching a certain status.

I certainly do appreciate your thoughtful response to my admittedly prickly response to the question at hand.

Hi Eric. What were these plugins? Maybe I can help you find alternatives which may help make your site awesome?
bbhugaloo

There are several. First is Associate Gorilla, which seems to automate and speedup the development of a site. There is another app that I want to install, which will automate Amazon affiliate selling, I haven't bought it as yet, but it looks really good. I see other plugins that automate a lot of things like Facebook pages. But Associate Gorilla is the one that was in question.

Hi Eric,

I have searched Google for Associate Gorilla and did not find any automation tool of that name. May be its not the correct name? But I found a software called FBGorilla for posting to Facebook. I understand you are trying to automate your amazon site. You must be very careful though - this worked very well for marketers before 2008 - but since with the new google algorithms, like Panda (2011), Penguin (2012) and Hummingbird (2013), things are more complicated. To be able to sell as an affiliate marketer, you must first have a website, put your contents and affiliate products on the website and start promoting.

BUT, buyers must be able to find your site on the search engines, specially Google, visit your site and click on your affiliate links to buy for you to earn commissions.

NOW what if your site does not rank, (let's say in the first 3 search pages of Google for a given search), people will never find your site and you will never earn commissions. SO beware of automated software for affiliate marketers. You will only lose money buying these. GOOGLE doesn't like affiliate shops where you don't have a blog with contents/articles also.

The best way to go forward is to build a wordpress site using a good theme, assort the products you are going to promote with a good review or in an article with the right keywords. You can have store on a separate page on your site (you can have a plugin for that). But first it's your articles and reviews which will allow your site to rank with Google, so visitors can see it and visit it.

As you said you haven't gone through all of WA training yet. I would advise you go through these. If you don't want to create the website yourself or write articles, you can outsource these. There are many freelancers, specially in the Philippines who can do such work for a reasonable price just to get you started and then when you have a good grasp of the ropes you can carry on by yourself.

May be other members on WA can help also here.

Hi Eric.

Being an Ambassador (for me anyway) just means that you share your experiences with Internet marketing so as to help others....and ask for help if you need it. It is absolutely your choice whether or not you wish to do that.

Blocked plugins I should imagine, may have security issues but I am not very technical so please approach support if you need more information as to why they are blocked.

Mmmn.....a cult lol. I've never heard WA being called that before.
I have been looking to make a living online for at least 10 years! I've purchased alot of programs and engaged in many training programs. WA is by far the best training and and the most sincere community I have ever been a part of.

Hope that helps. Have a great day and good luck with your Internet journey :)

Jude has answered some of your concerns, this is my take.

I use the training here for building a secure online business. I don't promote WA, but have sites about my hobbies, as many people here do.
I learnt more here in 3 mths than I did in 3 yrs at college studying computing.

I am an ambassador here because I'm very active within the community, blogging, asking and answering questions etc. This is a choice and you don't have to do this.

The community help here is one of the things that has made me stay, I haven't seen anything like it within IM sites before, usually its dog eat dog!

Hope this helps. :)

Hi, I am trying to use a wordpress theme I bought called chillslick that I bought from Rapid Crush.
I went to Theme options and input the registration key and my email address,

Hello Eric,

curl connections are usually disabled on WA servers. That causes problems with certain themes and plugins that require communication back to the author's external servers.

Like Angela suggested, contact WA Support. They may have a workaround for you.

If you still get nowhere. Contact Rapid Crush again and see if they have an alternate means of activating your theme.

it should work if it is a wordpress theme, check with support

Hi!

I don't know about that theme you bought but as to which theme you should choose among the 1400 available on WP, it really depends on your niche and your tastes. You can try one and change it and try another one, it's very easy and won't do anything to your content.

You can also search a theme according to several criteria (responsive, colors, columns, etc.)

you cant fix the problem of someone owning the other site. The solution would be to contact and purchase but I would just use a different domain.

If you own another domain you can get it hosted here at WA very easily. Just a matter of changing the name servers for your domain and using the WA nameservers.

Thanks, that is what I thought. I am surprised though, that WA said the site was available using siterubix, but is not if I make it my own domain.
So how does that work? Do I input the domains that I already paid for over at namecheap, here at WA website setup? What about the work I did setting up my first site in the beginners course? Do I just abandon that site and its domain?
What are the WA nameservers? Can I go to the registrar, and tell them the new nameservers? What happens to the other hosting account, where they are now, but do not show up?

Eric, the domain name showed up on siterubix because it basically is different since it has the .siterubix.com added on to the end of the name. When it becomes just a .com the it is subject to use from the rest of the world. As you progress in the training, all of this will be explained to you. You can transfer your domains that you purchased from namecheap to the WA servers by simply changing the DNS settings. This too is in the Affiliate Bootcamp lessons. Yes, just go to the registrar page and change them. As for the paid hosting account, just call them up and cancel after you have transferred your domain names.
The work that you did on the website in the beginners course will transfer to your new domain name with no problem. When you go to the SiteRubix site manager to login, there is a button to click on to transfer your website. Simply click on it and follow the instructions. It takes no time at all to transfer, but may take an hour or so for it to populate the new website, depending on how much data you have on it.
Hope this helps.
Charlie

Thanks Charlie, in fact, the domain that I was trying to view using my other host for the past three months, and could not see, finally showed up when I put in the WA domain name server settings. Now I am trying to use the theme that I bought earlier, that shows up on the other hosting account for the first domain I bought. It is much more interesting to look at than the free theme I have through WA, and is supposed to be very fast to navigate, too. I try to upload the new theme to my WA wordpress site with the /wp-admin. However, it is either taking a really long time, (I pressed the browse button, and tracked down the file for that theme I bought), but so far, it does not appear to have uploaded from my computer to the /wp-admin site.
