What to do when you are lonely

Loneliness is a modern problem.

3 Things to do when you are Lonely:

  1. Go for a walk. Stop the first person you see and ask them if they know where the nearest old peoples home or hospice can be found.
  2. Visit the home or hospice and offer to visit regularly as a voluntary companion. There are always people lonelier than you.
  3. Read up on World War 2 history and especially the music and films.

Anything else is a bonus.

Good morning Peony,

Often I have been alone in my life, sometimes for years, luckily I have hardly ever felt lonely thanks to the many friends worldwide.

Greetings from the south of Spain, Taetske

Hi Ashley. There you go. The metaphorical walk. Your idea is brilliant though.
Have you got a niche in hammock relaxing?

Hi viyee. I was enthused when I read this. It wasn't what I expected. It was better. I'm not sure I'm following what idea is brilliant. No my niche isn't hammocks.

Great ideas Peony. I love WWII and all history. I was born in 1944 in Hitler's last days!

Thanks Michael. There are messages between the lines in this piece and looking outwards at other peoples plights and taking an interest can only be healthy.

And if you have a dog, take the dog along. People really love that. WWII? Not so much. Korean War and Vietnam.

Thanks Robert. You are right, dogs, wonderful conversation starters.
I guess the WWII generation are fewer these days.

Sorry it took so long to reply. Sometimes it's hard to get caught up. Yes, the WWII generation is getting scarce. Bob

Thanks Arthur. Me neither. I was thinking about the things which people often are concerned about. It is similar to boredom, how anyone can be bored, I do not know.
