The Biggest Classroom in the world

The biggest classroom in the world. Being here is like being in a giant classroom, sitting next to hundreds, maybe thousands, of class mates.

The classmates are all over the world and, yet, just here in this technological bubble.

Through this wonderful technology and incredible community, we can share and support each other as though we were sitting next to each other, in a giant classroom.

This would not have been possible 50 years ago.

This allows a few teachers to teach international classes of thousands and for the students, at all levels, to learn from the teachers and their classmates.

It is no longer necessary to group the students into ability classes since the video lessons are already grouped. This also means that those who already have some knowledge can jump to the level they need, instead of ploughing through repeated lessons of what they already know.

It also makes it easier to revise things the student is shaky on. They can just go back and repeat a lesson.

We call this modular education and, combined with modern communication technology, it is revolutionising the way we teach and learn.

Another advantage of this method is that we do not need to attend classes in a school or college boiling, at a specific time, on a specific day. We can access the lessons we need in our own time and at our own speed. This really helps people who have busy lives.

All of this, combined with the community support gives more people the opportunity to study than ever before.

Great post! Well said.

Hi Judy, Thank you for reading.

Great blog. Thanks

Thanks Travis. Hope you are successful in your business.

I agree with you this is an incredible community!

Thanks for reading Sandra and good luck in your enterprise.

Very true we have those 3 things stated by Socrates.

I'm in Forbes school of buisness right now and what they teach here at WA is exactly what they teach there. All be it not as in depth. BUT anything you want to learn can be found here on WA or the people knowledge base we have, which by the way is invalueble.

Thank you
:) Heather

Hi Heather, thanks for reading. I am glad people can see how much can be learned here. You are right, there is a lot of transferrable business skills. Things are not specific to online businesses. which just makes the training all that more valuable.

Thank You.

:) Heather

Peony Your post is good. But some people are taking this opportunity for granted. We are very blessed my friend to belong to WA.

Hi Boniface, Thanks for reading. I believe there are some good people here in this community.

Amen, Amen, and AMEN!! Education as a process is NOT confined to the classroom nor is it confined to the individual "preferences" of any particular instructor...to is a product of those who have a unique and particular knowledge...as Socrates mused, an "academy", as he called it, needs only three things students, an educator, and a library (or in contemporary times, a collection of recorded knowledge)...we have all three with WA, and I am VERY proud to be a small part of it...thanks for sjharing Viyee...

Press On!

Arthur

I feel learning or education, is an integral part of human beings and we need to learn every day, like we eat or drink or brush our teeth. Maybe this WA community is giving lifeblood to a new phase in human evolution. I know that sounds grand but many people conceive of learning as something that stops when we leave school or university. Thanks Arthur for you perceptive comment.

Very well said Peony! WA training is the crème of the crème on online distributed training on the planet and should be touted for effectiveness in educational forums everywhere!

Hi Michael. Thanks once again for reading. An interesting point. I wonder how this format could be applied to, say, disadvantaged children? It may already have been thought of.

That's an interesting thought Peony. I've often thought what WA could do with it's massive power base! The problem for K&C is if you build a staff and versify, you can lose the original identity of the organization. This has happened in so many businesses. But if they wanted to go there, it's quite possible!

I agree Michael.. It was a "what if" thought rather than a serious suggestion. The variations in educational needs would require a massive organisation. But maybe traditional education in the different countries could look to incorporate some of the principles.
There would safeguarding challenges for younger students, so maybe start with older ones and build networks?? Wasn't the internet originally an educational network started by universities for connecting students?
Thanks again for your thoughtful comments.

Education and universities had a hand In it then the military DARPA stepped in and developed it in spades. To polish it off along came Al Gore! LOL!

Yes it is Peony and also the best one to be in. Thank you for your wonderful post.
Jerome

Hi Jerome. Thanks for reading. You must live in one of the most exotic places on the planet.
Hope you health is still progressing in the right direction.

Well saidand another great post, viyee
We sometimes need reminding of the fact that we are a hugh community, all working together, all backing one another, ultimately to be successful.
Well said again,
Cheers......PB

Thanks Philip That is kind of you. I like the feeling of being pushed up rather than down as in most areas of work.
Your success is shared by so many others. when you succeed, so have all the others who helped you.
To success and beyond.

Amazing isn't it ? ;)

Hi Pauline, Thanks for reading. Wish you success in your endeavours.
