Is Blogging a Waste of Time

There are times when I wonder and question what I personally get out of blogging here.

Should I be doing something which is

more productive or

makes me more money.

Is easier to do?

Well! Is it a Waste of My Time?

So I sit and ponder on what I have got out of blogging here for the past year. Here is my take on it:

  1. I have developed my skills in writing for my readers.

  2. I have learnt how to position keywords to get a improve SEO of the article.

  3. I have learnt to modify my language to suit the subject.

  4. I have learnt to focus on what I am doing.

  5. I have learnt to write quicker.

  6. I have learnt how to organise my writing with a good plan.

  7. I have learnt how to improve by reading other member’s responses.

  8. I have a better idea what people really want to read about, (and that has surprised me.)

  9. I have learnt how to make lists like this one.

The advice direct and indirect from other members has been invaluable in honing skills needed to write articles and reviews on my web sites.

Blogging is part of the learning process and puts me in touch with a lot of other people with similar aims to mine.

Is Blogging a Waste of Time?

Hell, No!

I am grateful for the opportunity to read and practice. The feedback and advice is invaluable and I am still learning.

  1. To anyone who thinks they can’t do it. Yes! You can. I have written some tips and others have as well.

  2. To anyone who thinks it is a waste of time. I think you are missing out on a really useful part of the training here.

Thank You

Thanks to all who read my blogs and for all the feedback. Please keep it coming, there is still a lot for me to learn.

Blogging is great. With every post, there is improvement in your writing, and basically how you communicate with your audience, so keep blogging.

Thanks Carol. Is that a kick off for a song?
"Keep on blogging Carol
Blogging every night and day
Just gotta keep on blogging
If you wanna get some pay.

What, I like this. You can just add the music to it. I am rocking to my own tune already.

You are welcome Carol.

In my opinion, definitely NOT a waste of time.
It's actually the best part! :-)
I just love it!

Thanks for the post.

Thank you Elaine.
I have grown to really enjoy it myself.
I did not start out that way. In the beginning, I wondered if there was much point.
Get a web-site built and get traffic to it.
Customers like to see some interaction and discussion on the site = blogging.

Good afternoon Peony,

I have also noticed that now as I write more it goes a lot faster.
Nice post, keep writing.

Have a good weekend, Taetske

Thanks Taetske.
It is true isn't it. It gets smoother the more I do.

Great post and it seems you answered your own question ;-)

Wayne

Thanks Wayne.
Guess I did.
It sort of unfolds as I write.

Blogging is also known as your CONTENT. If your website has no content or blogging of one kind or another, then it's just a page full of affiliate links and advertisements. No reason to land there, really.

I agree Hal.
People need interaction, not just a passive web site.

It seems you have already figured that it is NOT a waste of time to blog! You must blog the content of your website. (That is why it is called a BLOG).

You have also learned a few other things that have been listed.

With out you blogging, you will not make any money! (THAT is certainly not a waste of time.)

Thanks Mickey.
It certainly isn't a waste of time for me.

As long as the blog is of interest to you and others, it's not a waste of time. If the blog is pertinent and beneficial to most members no time wasted.
Pat B

Thanks Pat.
Exactly.
There is also the selfish element of honing one's own writing skills.

Well....I can't imagine building an online presence or a website without the "Blogging" part of things. I mean....isn't it about attracting people and helping people?

I agree with you, it's not a waste of time, it's necessary.

Thanks Wayne.
I wrote that because there are a few people who seem to think it is not productive.
I am with you on this one.

I just don't see any other way around it if you're going to have a successful online business. How do you attract traffic to your site if you don't blog about stuff?

NOPE! Not a waste of time.

Thanks Wayne. Absolutely.

Look at a mainstream method for building yourself and WA.BTW I must have subliminally picked up your image for my word game post today!

Thanks Mike.
LOL I will check that out.

It depends. I think it is a waste of time sometimes. Just saying.

Hi David.
Thanks for reading.
I think it is dependant on how you use it and what you need.

Exactly.
