Do You know What you are Doing?
Are You wading Through Treacle?
There it is: the flickering cursor.
What do I write?
Where do I start?
There is so much to do and some things must be prioritised and done first.
Which one do I prioritise highest?
There is the pile on the left.
There is the pile on the right.
there is the list I made last week.
Last Week!!!
Get a cup of coffee and have a think.
Clear the Decks and Clear your Mind.
This is my experience and I know it can be different for those admirable organised people.
I empty the desk and working area.
Wipe down the surfaces.
Stand back and admire the empty space and then sit down and write.
As I am writing, my confidence creeps up and touches me on the shoulder.
I smile and suddenly, there's a page or more of content and I can upload.
Now I can turn round and grab the first bit of backlog and deal with it.
Now the coffee is pulling me up into a standing position, (it won't make itself.)
A quick trip to the kitchen.
A few stretches along the way.
Wow! I feel good.
Where's the next bit of backlog?
And the workspace still looks clear.
And so am I.

Well, I would just put all of it on a pile and set it a blaze and let it burn. Ashes are lighter to carry.
Yes John. a simple formula to a clear desk.
Note to Self:
"Must get an incinerator."
Of course in amongst the paper were other important objects, a camera, a memory stick etc which it was a relief to find and put back in their normal home.
To me, it doesn't matter, clear surface or not. If inspiration comes, it comes. It doesn't ask permission and doesn't depend on how much paper in piles I have around(I usually have a lot!) .But I admit it, people are different. With each individual it can work differently.:)
Thanks Vera. You are right, we are all different. I suddenly found that all the "piles" were screaming at me for attention.
Clearing it all out of the way made it easier to write. Then I discovered the energy to deal with the "piles" themselves.
Yes, I agree it might work in some situations for me too. Sometimes I can write in front of a TV watching a film. It depends.:)

Sometimes it's hard to figure out what to right about and if you should begin or not. You just have to force yourself to do it.
Oh yes, I agree Brian.
There are a few techniques which can sometimes help to unlock ideas.
there are some good blogs here about content creation. If you type "Writers Block" / "Content ideas" in the box at the top you might get some ideas.
