Mind over Matter
Good morning WA family- I woke up this morning at around 6.15 with this blog in my head so here I am writing this blog about Mind over Matter
Your mind- Are you in Control?
If you have ever traveled to Bali, or seen documentary's on TV, you may have seen the monkeys there and how they jump on tourists shoulders, steal their sunglasses, hats and food very quickly, then scamper off to the next victim- Sounds kinda cute, but it can also be very annoying to the tourists.
The reason I wrote that is because, as a Success Coach, I use this "Monkey" term a lot.
When you have negative thoughts and we all do, I call this the "monkeys on your shoulder" playing with your mind.
There are times when the negatives we listen to can stop us from moving forward, create anxiety, depression and fear, all of which of course we don't want to happen.
Your mind- Are you in Control? YES, you are!!!! Every thought you have is you choice. You can let it enter you head if it is worthy of being there or you can simply say out loud, NO if it is a negative thought and quickly think of something positive.
Practice - it takes time
You will find you need to do this every time a monkey arrives however if you keep saying NO in time, those rascally monkeys will go away because you mind is not allowing them to enter.
Human beings are capable of doing anything and everything in life. You may have a disability, you may have health issues however you can still do so much with your life if you tell yourself "I CAN DO THIS" You see impossible is I'm possible
Achieve greatness through Mind over Matter
If you haven't heard of Nick Vujicic, I want you to Google him when you finish reading this. Nick has no arms, no legs and he lives an incredible life. WHY?
Because he chooses to. Yes, it really is that simple. Nick believes anything is possible if you tell yourself. "I CAN DO THIS" and release all negative thoughts before they try to sneak into your mind.
Remember- You matter and YOU are in control of your mind. Not the other way around. YOU are AWESOME, YOU are POWERFUL and YOU are capable of being GREAT in all you do.
Sure you are maybe not going to be the best in your field. This is not important. What is important is that you keep moving towards you Goals, believing, YOU CAN DO THIS and every time that cheeky monkey wants to play-NO- NO- NO until positive thoughts are all you allow into you mind
Today
In conclusion, if any of you have these monkeys, please try what I have suggested as it really is fun and it does work if you are persistent with these little critters.
I wish this new day for you to be filled with positivitiy, confidence, fun and learning here at WA and I look forward to sharing with you again soon.
Go easy and remember- YOU CAN DO THIS, whatever THIS is and please Google Nick Vujicic as I am sure you will be inspired by Nick
Bye for now

We call those purple monkeys: a big hairy problem that seems to have no resolution to the problem. But the problem is based on a lack of info and our knee-jerk reactions to tend towards negativity!
Hi Howard- Yes and we need to work positively and keep moving forward
Success in all you do

Its funny you should mention Nick because we were just reading about him the other day. Just looking at his smile makes one happy because he radiates joy himself.
We will shrug those pesky monkeys off our shoulder if they try to bother us, Vicki.
Thank you!

Glad you enjoy him too

Great blog! I saw Nick live in SA and what you say resonates with me in my every day role as a coach. One of my favorite quotes is Henry Ford's "Whether you think you can or you think you can't, you're right"... Keep up the positive vibes Vicki, love it!
