I just signed up with an affiliate program that offers free text with your links already put in. basically it's articles written about things having to do with my niche, but wi
You can use it, but it will be considered 'duplicate content' and may not rank highly in Google as a result. You should definitely attribute authorship on posts such as these - for one thing, the person who wrote it is trained in the field.
So at the beginning should i say something like, the following article is reprinted with permission and was written by then the author's name? do you think I would still have credibility even if I didn't write it/ It still contains affiliate links
Yes, that's a good intro. It will give you credibility as an honest person, not necessarily as an expert in the subject.
another person who answered this told me that i couldn't use it as it could be considered duplicate content. however, the stuff is only accessible if you are logged in so would that be a nofollow on the pages for that site? I am also confused as most of the content has to be original content. so I am confused.
I said if you put it on your site, it will be considered duplicate content, and if you've cut/pasted it to a post, to make that post 'noindex' - I personally wouldn't use it, but there is nothing preventing you from doing so - you asked 'can I' not 'should I',
oh. I meant should I...sometimes i'm not always the best at coming up with proper wording for questions.

Can I use pre-written content and if so, how?

Hi Lisa,
If you wish to create your own business within a specific niche the overwhelming majority of content should be original content written by you.
It is fine to use bits and pieces of other peoples written content to support what you are writing if properly cited, but the bulk should come from you.
If you don't feel you are able to help folks with your research and writing in a specific niche, perhaps you should look at something that will allow you to do almost all the writing.
I hope this helps you to understand, my best,
Gary
on the question of original content...can i have a guest writer? as my partner is also involved in the same niche that I am and he is stronger in some of it than myself.
Lisa,
If this is your business you need to focus on branding it as such. That means you need to be writing original content to help folks in the niche you have chosen.
If you need to use other peoples words to work your niche, perhaps you should consider a different niche that you can write about by yourself?
I hope I did not confuse you, but in order to succeed you really need to own your helpful information for the folks in that niche.
All my best,
Gary
