What does not kill us…

Makes us healthier and more attractive... And gives us energy, too.

I know one person among my WA friends who is not going to even read it. Yes, yes, you know who you are. Or maybe in you there will arise the interest like that of an entomologist when he studies some new species, it’s like what new is she going to say here?

Well, maybe nothing too new. Just going to share my experience and some thoughts on the topic.

I wanted to try it long ago. I am a well-read person , having done a course on medicine and physiology as my minor at university and I adopted a kind of DIY attitude to my health understanding that official medicine cannot help me too much.



I do not talk now about some serious cases of emergency when we of course need to apply to doctors. I am talking about our everyday life in which we have all the choices as to either improve our quality of life or make it worse.

There is a lot of research done which proves that even in regions where medicine is at a very high level, it determines our health only at 10%. This is true for the whole world. Life style determines 50% of our health , 25% of our health is determined by environmental conditions, which also to some extent depends on us, 15% is attributed to hereditary factors. Therefore, 75% of our health is in our hands.

I will repeat it for you and for myself too- We are responsible for 75% of the state of our health.Great news!


God created us as perfect beings with self-regulated mechanisms inside .If we help our bodies , if we don’t lead the life of destruction, we can function well till very old age.

And I presume that the main thing we should take care of is our immune system. If it functions well it can beat any infection, we can be healthy and vigour, and we can easily cope with our everyday tasks...

I am going to talk a little about benefits of water.

Sebastian Kneipp, who used water treatment as a means of curing illness, was a German priest. As a young man, the doctors pronounced him terminally ill with a lung disease. But Kneipp wanted to live, and when he found, by chance, a booklet called "Cold WaterTreatments" by Sigmund Hahn, he decided to give it a try .
The treatments worked. His health was restored. He decided to do some research on it and to help people who needed treatment..
Eventually, Father Kneipp expanded the original work of Sigmund Hahn, and the whole system of water treatments, baths, steam baths, and wrappings was developed.


Well and now I am gradually coming to the main point in this blog.

You may shut it down or continue reading .It's a bit tough...I mentioned I had wanted to try to do it for a long time but started doing last summer.

Yes, it's difficult, it's unpleasant when you only start it. You either need to breath very deeply or shout loudly..(Make sure your neighbours don't hear!).But after you have done it , you feel such a boost of energy, you experience an incomparable sense of achievement- Yes, I've done it!


The blood circulation gets better, the skin gets better.. It helps to maintain the right weight, it boosts the immune system, it gives energy. What is it?

And I will share some secrets of mine as to how to make it less traumatic (sorry, it IS unpleasant when you only start it...). First of all, forget the convictions "I will never be able to do it", "I will never do it", " It's not for me" ...

If you think so, you won't do it... Just say- "I will give it a try".

Don't start with extremes. Let it be moderately cold and moderately hot water. As times goes by, you can make it colder and hotter.

The main secret- Our head is less sensitive than other parts of our body. Pour water on the head (make sure it's not too hot each time!) and let it flow on the body. This trick made the whole difference for me.

Hot and Cold, I loved coming out of a sauna like a lobster and jumping into 36* water in northern Minn. What exhilaration!!

Yes, Paul... try it , but do it very gradually, with moderately hot and moderately cold water, for a short time... Read more about it- there's a lot of information on it... I read about serious siknesses being cured by cold water... But in case you have high blood pressure or some serious disease, be careful and check with the doctor...Good luck..:)
