How To Write Good
No, no..Don't worry. All is fine with me and my English. It's just something very amusing and educational at the same time which I want to share with you today.
Here are some rules of writing which will amuse you and which might serve as a guide to good writing. Only applying them remember that some of these are rules to follow and some are rules not to follow and do the contrary thing...Just pay attention to these things when writing.
There are three versions of this -.for those who like short things, for those who want to go a bit deeper and for the advanced (or patient). Choose any you like and enjoy.
In case you are still here and are interested which of these are absolute rules, which can be interpreted and applied depending on the purpose and character of your writing and which are anti-rules., let's look at a couple of examples.
With my respectful attitude to the language, the readers and myself, I would say that rule 28 should be always applied. We already have too many people who use the words incorrectly- why should we do this?
In good writing #44 should be applied.
#46 is not correct. The adverb can not only follow the verb:" He spoke English fluently".
The adverb very often stands before the verb "I often go to the cinema."
at the end of the sentence: "I don't know it either",
between the verbs: "I have never been to London."
As for 51, or rhetorical questions, they can be used depending on the manner of your writing. It can make the text more expressive.
And what I would really recommend to people who want to acquire freedom in writing, write letters. As simple as that. Write letters, emails to your friends, keep diaries. Gradually you will start feeling and loving words and it will be easier to talk to people on your sites and blogs because the best way to comunicate to people is the way you would communicate with your friend. It might take some time but it's worth it.
