How Our Commitments Help Us to Grow
Do you wake each morning and greet the day with a smile?
I know that’s not always easy to do and it certainly isn’t easy for me. But what makes me smile each morning is my commitment to making myself happy, whatever it takes.
I learned long ago how contagious happiness is, and how I could turn days around by simply smiling to myself and being grateful.
So that is personal commitment.
But then, there is commitment to others and sometimes those commitments can be hard to keep.
However, it doesn’t matter how difficult keeping a commitment appears to be, once the promise is made it must be kept. By not keeping a promise we have committed to, not only are we letting others down we are definitely letting ourselves down.
The secret is finding the fine line between committing enough to help us to grow, and over committing which can prevent progress due to a feeling of failure!

This time of the year I wake up and can hear a birds concert in the garden, that makes me happy so I smile. Nature is a big help. When I then open the door to the patio a cocktail of lovely smells gets into my nose and my smile gets bigger.
