Uber launches freight app for trucking services

This service helps carriers and drivers see available loads, how much they will get paid and settlement within 7 days. This means more flexible and available business.
It will give small players a leg into the business and a chance at expanding from business rather than be chocked by cash flow or big competitors.
Although with trucking over long distances the return trip is not always available immediately which may be a bigger cost than local passenger transport. It still opens up new opportunities as one can find business that originates from the destination still.
The key lesson for us is continual improvement. When you have something that works, do not stop there. Continue to look for how you can scale horizontally, vertically or even diagonally, especially in addressing a problem that is still related to your core business. That way you do not lose focus on your core business, you extend you market.

It sure will have a certain success. But it will be limited. When I was beginning of my 20th I did had a summer job for a transportation company. The biggest fear on longhaul transportation, was that there would be no return freight! Returning without freight ment eating up the profit. In other words by staying at you lost less money.
Thanks for sharing, Tyrell!
Indeed that is a huge problem given the distances and cost of running an empty truck. I am sure the facility will some of the problems to make is generally useful. Some problems need new thinking and solving.
