Sometimes You Just Have To Let It Go.

Sometimes, you just have to let it go is a phrase that quite often relates to 'timing'. Due to the current world situation, many of us are finding that our hands are being forced. This is no bad thing.

On a personal note, this has been the case, without 'notorious' delivery weekends. They are no more and will never be the same again. Sad ? Not really, they were a pain and yet a necessary part of our business. Now we have to change.

It means that our focus is now on the online sales (which is as it should have been a while back, in my humble opinion) and more on the 'team building' side of things. Both of these have far more potential.

So, we change and adapt or we stagnate and fall back. Still, that's not what this post is about. It's more to do with Site Comments. Wait, don't go all quiet on me, it's not a moan, as such. It's more a statement of intent, moving forward.

I have been a 'Commentator' for over a year and have pretty much enjoyed it. I have learned a great deal from other members sites and earned just over $90 in the process. My aim was to have made enough to pay for the next annual membership fee.

This would have been possible had it not been for the current situation, as it seems to have had an effect on the amount of cash available when leaving comments. This has been mentioned in a couple of posts.

Best case scenario is that you manage to leave four or five comments a day and maybe earn a dollar or slightly more. Do that for a year and you've paid for your membership. A nice little 'aside' if all goes well.

In truth though, it takes me over an hour to leave four comments and I now find myself in the position of needing that hour for something else. As we are all aware, time is at a premium. It's a commodity that needs to be traded wisely.

That in turn segues me nicely to the next topic. After some major research, which began towards the end of last year, and finally deciding on actually taking action (words are cheap) I have signed up for the 'One Funnel Away Challenge'.

In true Twack fashion, I'm not just doing this solely for me. The purpose will be to provide a conduit for both leads and sales for the Avon business. I wanted to use that side of things first, as the infrastructure is already in place. The website 'store' is up and running and the 'sign -up' side of things runs very smoothly. My own endeavours are not at that stage yet and may not be for a year or so either. Also, my wife doesn't mind doing the videos.

It's not that I'm camera shy, my time will come, just not yet.

When it works, as that is how you have to think, it will provide a basis to apply the ideas into other areas.

While this is going on, I though it would be nice to keep you updated on the progress of this 30-day course.

Today was the first day and has taken me approximately an hour and forty-five minutes to complete everything. Interestingly, there was only a small amount of time spent on the concept itself. Many of you are probably already familiar with what a 'funnel' actually is, so I won't dwell on that.

Most of the intro was on 'belief' and having that confidence that you are not only up for the challenge but also that you believe yourself capable of carrying out the tasks. Apparently, most of the problems that we face will be between our ears. True enough, I think.

So, that's where I'm at, just wanted to let you know what's going on. I'm going to try to keep you briefed on what each day brings, that way, if I learn something, then so can you. That just seems right and proper.

Everything stays the same, even when things change. Think about that one.

As always, I hope you are all staying healthy, happy and sane.

Twack Romero.

Good afternoon Twack,

Reading your post I came upon the part where you say that you are not camera shy? How come that we have never seen you yet?
It piques one's curiosity to be talking to a nice person but not know what they look like.
That part about between the ears, we have too little or too much or even do not know how to use it. Anyhow, now we have time to think about it all.

Stay safe and healthy,

Taetske

Thank you Taetske. I'd like to say it's 'complicated' but it really isn't. My own ideas and plans are fairly hefty and long term. We're only in the second year of a five year process, then there will be another five years on top of that (That's a conservative guess)
The whole idea is much bigger than little old me and I don't want anything to detract from building the name and what it stands for. There might come a time that I chnage my thoughts on it but for now it works well as it is.
I know it sounds a bit cryptic but it is quite difficult to articulate.

Ok, I was teasing you a bit and please continue being cryptic for as long as you like. I do not have a problem with that.

All the best, Taetske

Thank you Taetske, it might not be that far away, all depends on how things work out. At some point I will write a post detailing all that I am working towards.

Ding Dong Avon Calling. How would have figured that Avon has done into the next century? You and your wife can make this happen. I am rutting for her I think that it is great that you are doing it together even if you are in the shadows like you said your time will come.

Commenting has been my pet peeve but I found my better way that is a whole different story in itself and I have posted on the subject.

I wish that back then I would have had commentators to choose from but this has only been but in place since last year, and there are more changes coming.

yes there is always a better way we just need to find it
Linda

I know, over 125 years strong and yet the back bone has always been the 'Avon Lady'. Their 'online' set-up is comprehensive though. I've wanted to move in this direction for a while but in doing so you lose the 'personal' touch, which my wife enjoys.
Now that we have no choice it means that she is guilt free.
As for the comments, currently it's not viable, as I need that hour, unfortunately, it's as simple as that.

Hey,

Hey read this post earlier and thought deja vu as I had definitely remarked at enforced strategy with Avon, then as always you shifted gear on me and went into site comments and the general consensus regarding its value vis a vis our time and just as I was about to comment you took me into the one funnel away challenge which sounds most interesting and was really what grabbed my attention finally.....definitely looking forwards to your updates on this Twack as it promises to take you through the thrills of the spills of ne marketing thinking even though it has been around since MLM.......but then again not really because the new way of thinking about it has been consolidated further and think you doing it is a great service to your better half, to you and ultimately us as your refined thinking when it comes to not only your benefit but also that of others.........await your next foray with interest.....I do realise we may chew the fat over other subject matter in between obviously....ha ha

It's 10.10pm here and I'm battling with the heavy lids as I anticipate closing up shop for the night, then I read your comment and as always it has put a smile on my face.
I tend to sit on things for a while before making a decision and then something happens that triggers a internal chain reaction and all the pieces fall into place. Then, I step up to the plate and go for whatever it is I've been contemplating.
I know (When I was younger I used to berate those that said 'know' about things that hadn't happened yet, reminding them that they couldn't 'know' but could only 'think' and surmise) this will work and that makes me excited and not just for myself.

Thanks for this insightful post and I couldn't agree with you more about Site Comments.

Kyle referred us to this somewhere in Lesson 2 and I faithfully went and did my reviews. I found that it was not really the best use of my time, because in order to really help the other person, you need to be pretty thorough - as that is what I would wish for myself!

Unfortunately, many do not do so and provide one-liner comments. Some folks you have helped out don't even bother to thank you.

Give and Take Comments is better - but not totally devoid from its own woes.

Yes, time is a very precious commodity right now and we need to learn to adapt to changes and let go of some stuff.

Ceci

Thank you Ceci, your reply makes me think that your comments would be well worth paying for.
I agree, not everyone plays the game straight, which is a shame. Still, times change and we must adapt to those changes.
It's also a perfect opportunity for a 'follow'.
Thank you for taking the time to read and leave your thoughts.

You have illustrated exactly what all of us will have to do to survive the changes brought on by this pandemic - be willing to let go of how things used to be AND be willing to change and adapt to a new normal.

Now that we are somewhat isolated from everyone it becomes easy to fall into the "why is this happening to me" pit but hearing your story quickly reminds us change is happening to all. of. us. Even as everything stays the same.

Susan

You have summed it all up so well. Now is definitely the time to realise that things are changing and that we need to reassess our own situations.
We don't have the luxury of being able to stick our heads in the sand and hope everything will go back to normal.
Thank you for such an insightful response Susan.
