Motivation crumbles where habits are not formed

Always setting goals and beginning a journey that leads to nowhere? We are all heading somewhere and our daily focus and choices tell much about where that "Somewhere " is.

Tru-Junco is a word that best describes my nature as I am a wandering soul who loves and thinks spontaneously. Known to be a creative survivor in an adverse climate this bird fellow can be seen comfortably pecking and chattering in a foreign land as if his own. Habits for survival deeply ingrained he can easily make a case for having a "never-quit attitude...but ask him to set a Goal and focus to the finish' And I will scream,

"Squirrel!"

So what is my go to philosophy whenever I feel the need to be distracted? This one quote reminds of my true desires and brings me perspective.

MOTIVATION CRUMBLES WHERE HABITS ARE NOT FORMED

All my hopes and dreams unrealized, are due to the fact that I did not finish the journey by developing the tools to get there...of course I take into to consideration that sometimes along the road we change course for appropriate reason, but never-the-less we are best accomplishing where great habits are formed.

...and by the way can you tell me if successful people in any endeavor have formed the "habit" of creating good habits?

Better post before recognizing my redundancy. Thank you for any additional insight...friends

respectfully, David

I told a relative of mine that the only thing that can change overnight is attitude, habits bad or good needs time. Another great post David.

Thank you for the post I love it, If you think about changing habits you have to be hard with your subconscious mind is layzie for new rules new habits, but if you step up for the change and make it work for the best , new productive habit Oh congratulation you made it you opened the door of success, look best way to do it, when ever you weak up in the morning do 15 minute exercise in fresh air, it`s proven by science that the active body is fast decision making, that the change you have to make to achieve your Goals, get out of loserville or comfort zone Dave, Good luck for the best to success Hakim.

Hakim, Thank you and your reply is very helpful to my perspective because I have formed a habit of starting my day with fresh air and exercise...great to hear someone else agree with that.

Hey David, some things just have to be done more than once and for that we need habits. Habits can be a bit of a challenge for spontaneous beings but I too have learned that without habits I don't achieve much. Enjoyed the read. ~Mark

Thank you Mark. It means a lot that you provided input here as I
look forward to reading your posts and your opinion counts with me

nice real nice inspiring post.

Hi David,
There is something magical about writing one's daily mini goals down on a piece of paper and then executing them one by one. Somewhat we become obligated to finish them. It's amazing what we can accomplish it we know the answer to 2 questions.
Why we want to do something and how we want to accomplish that.

Tadeusz,
Thank you for this inspiration and I truly like the mini-goal idea. This, I'll be using daily, as I already print a thoughtful quote for the day it will provide paper to write these goals down...have a bright and sunny day ,my friend, and thanks.

Respectfully,David

Since it takes 21 days to establish a habit, we must hold onto that motivation for 21 days to establish the habit.

That is the strategy, it is in the execution we encounter problems.

Good advice!
Sheila

Great insight for me here and I am currently working on a goal of mine some 129 days. It gets easier to find time for it as I am pleased in my progress. Thank you for taking the time to reply and I'll check in with you soon

OMG this is a great post. thanks for the timeline of developing "good" habit. I also read that it takes an entire moon cycle . Hmm...is that's why addiction rehab are at least 30 days?
my bad habits need rehabbing. you should post a blog of the 21 days of establishing a good habit. i think it would make for some great reading.
