Deleting PAGES in Wordpress
Hiya everyone.
I just wanted to put some "notes" out there for Newbies - like me - as knowing this would have saved me getting a few more grey hairs!!
When deleting pages from Wordpress I have realised that unless I empty the trash the change (deletion) is not implemented. I applied the following steps and found it successful at deleting this page.
- Go to your wordpress dashboard for your website
- From the menu at the left select Pages, All Pages
- When all your pages appear go to the page you want to delete and select trash
(once you hover over the page name the options to edit, trash, etc. would appear)
- Now go to Trash (in blue font at the top of the page - just above the field for "all dates" and click on this
- Now choose the option to "empty permanently"
- Now refresh your website (I do it via going to the top left of my dashboard and visiting my website then refreshing the page)
- Once you have refreshed the change will take place.
I am very aware at how simple this is and for those non-newbies this will seem like .... duh ... however, if like me these are your first few real steps into the big, wide world of internet marketing then something as simple as this can be a little frustrating. It was for me as I KNEW I had deleted a page and yet it kept showing up on my website.
At the very least .... if this saves anyone some grey hairs ... it was worth writing.

I have two pages the same in menu but only 1 in pages how do I delete the one in menu only ?

I am just about to delete a page for the first time and did a search here to see if there was anything I needed to know before I did. And it was....I did not know I had to empty the trash, so will do and thanks for the info
