Pushing Forward With No Experience and an ADHD Disability
It's a big world out there. Lots of possibilities, This picture dictates to me that a lot of people out there are successful, and here I am, staring out a window, wishing the same accomplishment. I made my 6 month accomplishment badge. That's just for longevity on WA. I have sat and done nothing these last few months and want so much to push forward. It's hard coming from no experience, to creating really good product reviews. It most definately doesn't happen overnight. So what does one do?
There are plenty of training videos here and text support via live chat and emailing. I guess it all comes down to time. Making time to make it work. All those hours on the TV, or watching the whole day go by watching TikTok or Instagram videos... when one could be studying the videos and getting somewhere. I can't point fingers, but the object is not to cheat accomplishment ratings here by clicking yourself all the way through the WA lessons when you haven't created everything and/or adhered to all "the plan(s)". So I'm stuck on Level 3 until I accomplish creating a darn product review. One that actually compels users to visit my site and click the link(s). heheh.
I'm not going to cheat my way through when I know management here KNOWS I'm not being honest with myself. ADHD (Attention Deficit and Hyperactivity Disorder, or ADD, without the hyperness) is really crippling because it comes with short term memory. You could teach me something yesterday and I will forget how to do it today, I can't learn looking over your shoulder. A teacher must be behind my shoulder as "I" do everything. We need to use our hands and eyes to learn, not a "you tell me and expect me to know it" type of training. In this way, and through repetitiveness, we can learn and remember.
Someone with ADHD has a really good friend out there. Their name is "Post-it Notes". Oh yeah.. you want to remember important things? Yup, post-it notes. Having a reminder on a phone or tablet is not enough. Those can be paused or deleted by us. A post-it note, however, stays there unless we crumple it up. And what prevents us from doing that is knowing that it is irreversable. It stares at you until you take action. Stick them on your bulletin or PC monitor. Let them bother you until you do what it tells you to.
What I really need to do is to use two monitors on this thing. One to watch a WA video and the other to take action on. I say this because one with ADHD doesn't have the patience to go through multiple screens, back and forth to start and stop videos. hehe. Yeah, we have it THAT BAD. LOL. Using just one monitor makes one scrunch two web screens together. You have to squint, everything is small. Speaking of monitors, let me give a helpful tidbit of info...
Did you know that some really good "used" yet refurbished computers and accessories (including furniture) is sold at college campuses? Ask them if they have a college store where you can get access to a gold mine of items. Worth checking out, right? And I'm not done yet regarding college campuses...
The students have a wealth of information on marketing, web designing, "product reviewing", etc. I'm sure some students would take on a job from you at a more reasonable rate than most online guys. I say this because it would look good on their resumes that they did this freelance work (or for a slight fee as a learning goal). It's a win-win for both sides. Just keep that in mind.
Yeah, so we have a learning disability. Wealthy Affiliate has a heart, don'cha know? Visit the Live Chat area often with your questions. Someone is bound to be online with a great link for you to follow. What I need YOU to do out there is to REMIND ME OFTEN to listen to what I preach. LOL. Oh, I procrastinate, make excuses, turn on the boob tube (and for you young'ns, that is not a bad word, ask google what a boob tube is). It's an old term we old timers use. Of all the english terminologies to have in our dictionary, right? Ha! Go Figure.
So off I go to make this one accomplishment of mine... to create a great product revirew. I sure wish I had a nice template to go by, but I have a few generic ones. If you or friends have some great links to cool product review templates, list them here. I'd really appreciate that. Favorite video? Let me know.
God Bless,
Trent

I can say for sure that most people who got started here had no experience, including myself. I see that you've made it to the 3 level. Think about that for a moment. With your learning disability with ADHD, I was no where that close in such short time when I first got started. Affiliate marketing was very new to me.
So, I think you might want to look back a little and see the accomplishments you've made. Keep moving forward until you get there. All the best!
I'd like to make my site more functional and inviting for sales. One thing at a time. Thanks for the praise

@trent523. I share your difficulty and disability. Late diagnosis (like 2 weeks ago at age 58!)
I don't know if it will change my life moving forward. but it certainly explains so much from the past.
And the fact that, like you, I am also still on Level 3 because I can't write a review. And there I have stayed for nigh on 2 years, while I managed to get involved in all sorts of other things by way of extreme procrastination on the main task.
For me, I'm now going to try just one small task per day - I don't need to compete with anyone else. Perhaps it could work for you too.
All the best to you.
