Wordpress Database Optimization Plugin
I would like to first of all mention that I use mostly Windows PCs for my WA Tutorials. Plus, I use Citrio Browser instead of Google Chrome because it is more lightweight but fast and secure in its speed.
Are you like me who has done many Revisions to your Blog Posts/Pages lately on your Website?
Then, you see that there is a Large Number for Revisions you did for each Blog Post/Page and you want to make that number lower?
I got the idea to do this Tutorial thanks to Marcus the Magical Musician Man's Tutorial Titled: How To Drastically Speed Up Your Website
I just wanted to expand on it a little bit more as it has been Updated recently and some extra settings and changes have been made.
Just as you can't have multiple Anti-Virus Programs running on your Computer, likewise please exercise some caution to not have multiple Optimization Plugins running on your Websites also.
As per Marcus' WA Training above, I have found that I did NOT need the Autoptimize Plugin running alongside these Plugins I use for my Website all the time.
1) EWWW Image Optimizer Plugin
2) Optimize Database after Deleting Revisions Plugin.
The Autoptimize Plugin led to some major errors on my Website and I remember asking WA Tech Support about it and they said that some Optimize Plugin was making it almost impossible to see any of my Post Content while being in my WordPress Admin Dashboard.
It was completely blank, and it was upsetting me, Cleared Cache, switched Browsers around, you name it. Done it all, I guess you could say I have a certain way with conducting Trial-By-Error Experiments dealing with Plugins, but I came out victorious nonetheless and hope many of you all will too.
So, with careful process of elimination I had to help myself figure out which one was causing the mess. WA Tech Support did their part, and I did mine by removing the bad very bad Plugin called Autoptimize from my Website. And guess what? Everyone is happy, a perfect win-win situation. (^_^)
Alright, on with the rest of this Tutorial I have prepared for you all.
If you do a lot of Editing like I do then there's ton of revisions that are still there. I used this and it reduced my website about 75% in data.
It deleted over 700 revisions. It was a lot of unnecessary space I was taking up.
This Plugin's Purpose is that it: Optimizes the Wordpress Database after Cleaning it out.
Step #1: Go to your WordPress Dashboard.
Click on Plugins --> Add New.
Type in White Text Box on the Right Optimize Database after Deleting Revisions.
Step #2: Click on Install Now.
I like the fact that this Plugin is Updated every now and then too. :)
Click on Activate Plugin.
Step #3: Click on Plugins --> Installed Plugins.
Click on Settings underneath Optimize Database after Deleting Revisions.
You will also notice that when you hover over Tools, at the Right Hand Side you should then see Optimize Database too.
