PageRank Factors
Just like the recent Google Algorithm in use, PageRank does have some important factors that were used to determine the authority of web pages.
In this section, we will discuss 3 of the most important PageRank factors that were used by Google.
1 - Anchor Text - Anchor texts were so influential that Google believed they offered the best descriptions for the web pages they linked to.
For instance, Page A contains a well-written article about suede shoes. For any links to be factored into Page A's PageRank, the anchor text has to feature "suede shoes".
2 - Internal Links - Internal links were very important because they made it easier for both Google PageRank and humans to navigate your site easily.
Your ability to structure your web pages properly with internal links had a bearing on your pages' PageRank.
3 - Nofollow Links - Nofollow links were used to prevent search engines from transferring link juice from one web page to another.
Conclusion
Google may have stopped using PageRank and also retired its toolbar, but that doesn’t mean the PageRank concept has been buried. It just means that the search giant has made fundamental changes to how search ranking is computed.
It is very obvious that today the quality and quantity of backlinks is still a very relevant factor that is used by Google to determine search ranking of web pages.
Thanks again, and keep it going.
