Several blogging strategies have been discussed on the web, yet SEO is the major source of organic traffic to a site. But why is the use of anchor texts so significant in SEO? What is its relevance to search engine ranking? That’s the main focus of this tutorial.

You may have read about anchor texts on several blogs, or possibly not. Thus, I decided to discuss it in full, so the newbie can understand the concept of Anchor texts and its usage when doing forum posting.

What are Anchor Texts?

Anchor texts are phrases or word combinations embedded with links. They are clickable, visible texts integrated with hyperlinks.

When the texts are clicked, visitors are linked from one page to another. So, they serve as a gap between one page and the other.

Thanks for stopping by, Chris! Kudos to you for reading this training piece! Yes, anchor texts play a significant role in building SEO as discussed in this tutorial, but it mustn't be abused lest you hurt your ranking the other way round.

While using anchor texts within posts on your blog or outside your blog, like in forum posts or blog comments, use it wisely and decently, not using more than 8-12 anchor texts in a blog article of 1500-2000 words with 80% of anchor texts pointing back to pages of your blog (Incoming internal links) and the rest pointing to external blogs (Outgoing internal links).

And when used outside your blog like in a high PR forum and so on, use 2-3 anchor texts pointing back to your blog (high-quality backlinks) to avoid getting penalized for link spamming.
