Account Settings Mouse over your image along the upper right hand corner of the WA screen and scroll down to access your account settings.

Activity Dashboard This pretty much is the home page of Wealthy Affiliate.It lists the most recently joined premium members as well as all questions, blogs and training created, most recently always appearing on top, scrolling down as new ones are added.


Adware: Also known as “spyware”. It is a program hidden within free downloaded software that will transmit user information via the web to advertisers.

Adwords: This is Google’s Pay Per Click (PPC) advertising system. You will pay to get top rankings in Google. However, be sure to not try it until you have enough posts on your website to include at least 40 or so and follow along in the WA Bootcamp training

Affiliate You will hear this word many times. This is a person who earns revenue from promoting products on their site. You are being trained to become a Wealthy Affiliate which means you will be learning how to become a successful affiliate not just with WA, but with any company you create an affiliate partnership with.

Amazon An online commerce website that sells numerous products. It is one of the most popular and easy to use affiliate companies, but the commissions are low, ranging from 4% to 6%. I started my affiliate marketing with Amazon and made 15 sales my first month.

Ambassadorship These are a group of people who are active and helpful within the community and are continually working to make the platform at Wealthy Affiliate a better place to be. The top 25 most active and helpful members who are creating content and training are considered The Ambassadors.

AutoSave To automatically save a file as you are working on. Most computers automatically save your file every three to five minutes.

Avatar An icon or digital image of one's self used in an online platform, such as WA.

Hi Steph, thanks so much for this the information is invaluable. There are a couple of other terms I see being mentioned but am unsure what they are - backlinks and meta bar. Would you be able to explain these for me please?

I noticed that too and when I first published this resource there was much more of those special characters. It is not HTML. HTML looks like <html> ....<head>...</head>....<body>...</body>...</html>

These are some special characterization and I do not know what is causing them. I have to go and edit them individually.
