When I first joined Wealthy Affiliate I was soon overwhelmed with email notifications to my personal email account. I really found no useful purpose for the email notifications since they didn't give me much information on the subject of the notification. So I turned them off, I recommend that you do the same. You can always turn them back on later if you so desire, but just remember that the more followers you get the more emails you'll receive.

To turn off your email notifications, first click on your small profile picture in the top right of your page, then from the drop down menu select Account Settings.

On the very bottom of the Account Settings page you'll see Email Notification Settings. Select "No" where it asks "Do you want to receive email?"

While you're on the Account Settings page, I also recommend that you add your Google+ account if you already have one. If you don't have one, no worries, you'll create one as you go through the training. Just remember to come back here and add it to your Profile once you create it.

By adding your Google+ account here it will show up as an icon on all of your blog posts making it easy for people to add your account to theirs and vice versa.
