Entertainment Does Provide Balance In Our Lives

"All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy." Most of us have heard this line before and it is, of course, true. Entertainment does help us relax and this is real value for us. In my own life, I'm not a television watcher, though I do occasionally watch it with a friend. I generally watch about three or four hours of television per week. It's my time to be with my friend...

We silence the commercials and talk about life...a great way to not give commercial advertising the time of day!

Music

I often play music...the right kind of music that does not distract from what I'm doing when I'm writing or learning new concepts here at Wealthy Affiliate. I tend to listen to instrumental music, something ambient or classical. I realize this is not for everyone, but it works for me. There are times however, when I need absolute quiet time to do my writing. Music is therapeutic and is also a mood-enhancer.

The idea here is to balance out your time, some for entertainment, and some for education. At times both can be done simultaneously depending on you and what works for you. Ideally though, all of your focus should be on your work and your education at least some of the time. Music is a wonderful medium that works well with work, if it is the right kind and does not distract.

Are you in a job that you don't like? Sad folks are forced to take jobs that lie outside of their interest levels because it's something they must do for survival. It's like being in a prison without bars.
