What Are Those Tools Icons For?

I'm sure you have noticed the icons in the Tools column. If you hold your mouse over an icon a small popup window will come up and tell you the function of the icon. You can also look to the left under the Help & Support box for a little more details. I always look in both places. See Figure 8 below.

Going from left to right, you can:

  1. change a file or directory name
  2. view the file
  3. edit the file
  4. and edit the file using a WYSIWYG editor.

I don't see the need to provide examples of each. But I will tell you that the difference between the last 2 is that the "edit the file" tool allows you to modify the html code while the last one allows you to edit the file with a WYSIWYG editor just as if you were using SiteRubix.

Tremblant -- Yeah, it really comes in handy. Be sure to back it up after all of your changes are made and download it to your pc so you have an up to date copy. Check out my SIG for my webhost. Been using them for about 8 years now. All individual IP addresses at no extra charge.

Maz - You are welcome. You can do a heck of a lot with the file manager. If you are not hosting at WA, most hosting companies allow you to zip/unzip files. This is a real quick way to upload/download your entire site.

Thanks, it answered some of my questions and challenges, especially I was finally able to change the title "home" of my web page to something else easily; what web hosting co. do you suggest?

Thanks for a great tutorial. I didn't realise that you could edit the html code in File Manager.
