Using Paint

As I have already said, there are many softwares where one can process the images to bring into sizes, cropping etc. Paint is a simple software which can be used by anyone without much technical knowledge with reasonable results. For those who are not familiar with paint, I am discussing the process.

Let us take for example that you want to process one of your images to be used within your contents in the website. Here is the process:

1. Open the directory within your computer where the image is stored. Right click on it and get it copied (or select and press CTRL+C).

2. You will find the paint among the accessories in your computer. Click on it to open.

3. Click on paste on the main menu. Your image will be displayed.

On click paste, you will find two icons ‘paste’ and ‘paste from’. Click on ‘paste’ and, your image will be pasted. By clicking on ‘Paste from’ you may select your image by browsing the location of the image.

Here is the image of a tomato pasted from my collection of images.

4. If you want to use the image as it is, you may have to only resize it as per your requirement.

Click here to resize the image

5. If you want to use only a portion of the image, just select the desired area and copy it.

Click here to select. Cover the desired portion of the image within rectangle and then click on crop.

6. Open a new file in paint and paste the desired image and then resize it if required.

For those who do not have (nor want to buy) PowerPoint software, there is a free open-source equivalent contained in the Open Office suite of tools. The Presentation tool has much of the same functionality as PowerPoint.

Information on the OpenOffice suite (word processor, spreadsheet, database, drawing program, formula, and presentation tool) can be found at:
