Day 3: [Bill808] Ch. 3 of 5: "Its your business"

People ask me, “Can I do what you do?” My answer is, “No. You need to do your own thing.” You can learn to use the tools I use. You can learn the the fine points of sharing your message with the world. But, you need to find your own niche. What is your passion, or if you are not passionate, what do you enjoy.

Perhaps, like my son-in-law, you are a fly fisherman. He is a fishing guide for disabled veterans. He also sells stuff fishermen want. He provides classes for fly-fishermen. His focus, his niche, is helping wounded veterans enjoy the outdoors.

You have to find your own niche. The more focused that niche is the easier it will be to develop.

Why do I think the internet provides us the best way to build our business?

1. Over a billion people use the internet to get information. The search the net when they want something. They may buy in a local store, but they found that store on the internet. Amazon is the largest store in the world and they only do business on the internet. You can actually sell Amazon products and Amazon will give you a commission on anything a customer you send them buys.
2. You control your time. You can work part time, full time or overtime. When and where you work is up to you.
3. You can reach out to the world or you can concentrate on bringing customers into your local store, or you can do both.
4. You don’t need inventory or employees.
5. Start up costs and monthly overhead are low. You need a computer, a phone and some internet marketing tools.
