We will now begin the steps for adding content that explains key benefits that subscribers receive, once the join your mailing list.

Go to Appearance > Customize> Front Page Settings > Service Section

This is the area where you will add Icon Text widgets to the front of your landing page.

Click the Add a Widget button, to open the widgets display area.

Select the Blossom: Icon Text widget.

The widget will appear on the left side where you can add a Title, Description and select an Icon image.

This will create a tiny square, like the one shown to the right in the image below.

This is a dandy little widget that can be used to create tiny blocks that list the benefits that subscribers receive once they subscribe to your mailing list.

Spend some time thinking about the benefits that you can add here, 3 is the recommended minimum but I typically place 6 to 9 on my landing pages.

Once you have added your widgets, be sure to save your changes by clicking the blue Publish button at the top of the page.

This is how the widget area appears on your landing page, with six of theIcon text widgets added.

This is for illustration only, you can add whatever title, description and icon image you like to better reflect what you offer to your subscribers.

We will be adding featured content in the next lesson of this course. If you need to take another break, now is a great time to do so!

If you have any questions, or wish to discuss this lesson, please comment in the discussion area below and I will answer as quickly as I am able!

Tasks 0/3 completed
1. Create 3 or more icon text widgets.
2. Add the titles & descriptions for the icon text widgets.
3. Select icon images to go with the icon text widgets.

Hi Maria, Thanks for this training!
I just had a very small issue.
I don't want my About me to be shown on the landing page. Would you recommend showing it or not? And for some reason, the testimonial is going above my call to action section, and my "white space" is not created between the footer and the call to action. Is there a way to change it?

Hi Norbet, you can have the feature image and text pointing to any page you like it's up to you and what you are promoting. It would just be a matter of creating that page and changing it in the drop down list, shown in the lesson..... I'm going to take off my picture and about me and have some details about a free web site and things like that.

I am not 100% sure about the testimonial white space, I think you may have added the testimonial widget in your "Call to Action" section or not the "Blog Section" or "Testimonial" section
So it would be a matter of taking out the widget updating and clicking in the area it needs to go to add it again? Hopefully this helps.

Norbert, Jeremy has replied with the first things I would suggest as well. If his solution does not work, let me know and I will work with you to get it fixed.

Do you use Zoom? I have helped a few here by sharing my screen via zoom so they can see me as I go through the steps, the visual tends to help them.

Hi Maria, I did not use so far zoom, I didn't need it. In the meantime I managed to sort the issues. I had a Simple call to action, which is positioned lower on the page than the Call to action section! Thanks

Hello Maria and Team, MailChimp is extremely harsh! There policy is no work from home, no affiliate marketing and all that stuff. I spent a bit of time setting up my campaign and they booted me straight off. That's it, :-(

Send-In-Blue is a good alternative but they don't show up in the drop down box of selections? Is there a way to set up Send in Blue or do you have to stick to the ones in the drop down box?

Thanks for your help.

Jeremy.
(I can't pay for an expensive alternative.)

Jeremy, someone else also informed me that MailChimp does not allow affiliate programs. I did not know that includes no work from home, I will be sure to not recommend it in any additional tutorials I do. I feel that is absolutely unfair.

I use Aweber, they do provide a free trial, and they are very affordable.

I am looking at the send-in-blue, give me a bit of time to dig into the code this weekend and I will see what I can do to help you ok?

I will look into it in the morning, and report back here what I can get done for you.

Hi Maria, that would be very much appreciated thank you. I simply can't afford a paid mail program.
Thank you.

Hi Maria. Since I have changed themes. The underlining in my blogs that led to a product review and the underlining in the product review that led to the product information and purchase are no longer underlined/highlighted. The links are all still in place. Your advice would be appreciated.

I have only been going for 2 months so my selection of products from the affiliate companies are a little scant. Therefore my text widgets are also a little scant. Will I just run and fix/upgrade as I go.
Thanks again.
