The black hole of gamification

Our life has always been a big game.

Online it's is called gamification. That means that game elements are added.

What are these elements and how are they used by the companies?
Gamification elements on a website is nothing more than
applying game thinking and game techniques in non-game environments.


Simple techniques are:

  • A bar that indicates the progress
  • 25% of your profile has been entered
  • A review system
  • A ranking possibility


What is playing anyway?

Our culture and society stem from the fact that we are playful individuals.
We play for the sake of playing. Not for the result or for money. Playing serves no purpose or material interest. Play is the goal.

As long as people go back in time, we have invented games. During excavations of thousands of years ago, games were also found. Play is of all times. Play has traditionally been the goal of learning. Children learned through play how to hunt or how to care for a baby.



Playing is a preparation for an adult life.
By playing important skills such as emphathy are developed.
