I created a training video a while back on pinning affiliate links to Pinterest, but as with most things online everything changes over time and that video is not outdated and that method no longer works.

(Thanks Hindy for making me aware and sharing how to pin now!)

This video shows you how to pin affiliate links in 2019.

Here is the affiliate disclosure that I use in this video as taken from the Amazon page giving the guidelines for affiliate marketing on social media:

‘The links used are affiliate links. By buying through the links I may receive a commission for the sale. This has no effect on the price for you.’

And here is the training video showing you how to download and use the Pin It Button.

If you are interested in gaining more traffic on Pinterest here are all the training videos I have done for Pinterest to date:

Hi Lynne,
thanks for the video. I tried it this way but the empty field to insert the affiliate-link doesn't appear. Any idea why?
Thanks
Sibylle

Hi Sibylle

The place where you put your link shouldn't be empty, it should have a link to Amazon - remove that link and add you affiliate link in it's place :)

Hy Lynne,
there is no field to insert an affiliate link or website link at all. Even the added hashtags and keywords are not being taken. Is it possible because I am doing this from a private Pinterest account instead of a business account?

Hi Sibylle

I think you need to watch the video again. You need the "pin it" button and you need to pin directly from Amazon to your Pinterest and then you edit that pin to have your affiliate link.

It doesn't matter if it is a business or personal account :) You should still be able to do it.

Hello Lynne, I am so sad that after adding this affiliate link follow your method, my Pinterest account was suspended forever, I don't know why and what happened? when I write and email for complain why it was suspended, but they offer me with reply saying that my account went against their community rule to send spam, all the post my from my website, but only add two pretty link with wealthy affiliate, and then it was suspended forever, are you make sure that the pretty link for wealthy affiliate is legitimate and is approved to send on Pinterest? I am so sad to lose my account and no longer to give it back forever.

It must be something else, as I have links to WA on a Pinterest board and have never had any comments. Maybe you try and find out what is really could be.

As per my reply to the same message you left on my profile:

I am so sorry to hear that your Pinterest account was suspended! I also had one of my accounts suspended and Pinterest is offering no explanation to me either.

I have since deleted that training video - which was advice that I was given by another member on how to add WA links to Pinterest.

Also note that there has been a massive amount of people that have had their Pinterest accounts over the last few weeks - I have seen complaints all over online and this is not just related to WA. I have a Facebook group for Pinterest and there has been loads of people with the same problem.

My advice is to keep on contacting them. For my account they wouldn't even give me a reason which is frustrating as can be. I have a number of accounts and I have used the Pretty Link for WA on a few but only one account was suspended so I really don't know if it is related or not.

Yeah I really don't know Georg - I have also had one of my Pinterest account suspended but I have a number of accounts and I used that method on a few of them. I have seen that many Pinterest members have had accounts suspended - there's been a huge hooha about it online and many of those people are not WA members. So something is going on but I don't know exactly what, especially since when I contact Pinterest they also just give me a copy paste response and refuse to answer my questions.

Thank you for your video. I just put one of my affiliates on pinterest. It's a cooking site. I just used one of my ads for the picture. I paste my affiliate link in like you said in the video. It keeps going to my website saying Ooops. Do I need to change my picture because it's for my website or is something else wrong? If you could help, please. I'd sure appreciate it! Thank you!

If you are pinning an affiliate link you need to pin it directly from the affiliate website to Pinterest and then edit the pin so that it has your affiliate link and not the plain link to their website.

You click on the edit button on the pin and then you get the delete option.

Thanks so much for this because we are just starting out with Pinterest and it is a little confusing to us. We need to know the basics so we will read through all your pieces of training. This will be our focus this week.

You won't regret focusing on Pinterest, it is the best social network... once you can get your head around it that is! It took me a long time to figure it out.

It is amazing! I get anything from 300 - 600+ daily visitors to my main business website from Pinterest through the methods that I have shared here :) Not bad at all. 542 visitors so far today ... and I haven't really even been active on Pinterest today. I pinned a few affiliate links and some content from another of my websites.

It is a pleasure, it takes some work to get going but when it does it is brilliant - certainly easier than any other social network I use!

Hi Lynne

Thank you for that shame it takes a touch longer but at least it works.

Just a quick question is there a limit on the number of pins you can do in a day?

Hi Andre

I think as with any social network there is an algorithm. So if you sign up today and create 1000 pins today your account will probably be marked as a spam account. But if you are an established account and you regularly pin a lot you will be able to pin a lot.

I'm not so sure that pinning a lot every day is really worth your time or effort - it is better to create quality content and share that regularly and build up your account.

I don't always get the time to pin affiliate links to Pinterest but when I do I maybe do up to 3 pins a day and share those to a few boards. I don't like to overdo it.

Thank Lynne that is what I was thinking just wanted to make sure.

Yes, creating quality content is first the rest will follow. I don't use it as much as before it is already established but a few pins here and there during the week would be fine.

It would most likely be the same with the other media sites and definitely posting even 50 a day would be considered as spam that is how I would take it if I saw someone do that.

Thanks for your prompt reply Lynne enjoy the rest of your day.

Wishing you continue success.

Andre
