Meta tags play a very important role on your site. They are used by the search engine to determine what your site is about. They give information like who the author of the site or post is, what the title of the site or post is and the description of the post or site.
We see this when we use a plugin like Seo All in One or Wordpress SEO. At the bottom of each page we create, it asks you to add the title, and description of the post.
For every post you put on your site, you want to make sure that you put your keywords into your title.
Title Tag
There are certain rules that pertain to the title tag. You want to make sure to follow them to give your site the best optimization.
You want no more than 7 words in your title and less than 65 characters. Google and the other search engines will cut off the title when it gets past the 65th character, so if you make it too long, and your keyword gets cut off, this could hurt you in the end.
Description Tag
Your description tag is used by google to put an excerpt under your site link when someone performs a search. You want to make it simple, but there are a couple of rules that apply here as well.
You want to try to use your keyword in your description twice if possible. Make sure it makes sense. Sometimes it is hard to do this, so just make sure it sounds right.
You also want to limit your description to only 156 characters. As with the title, Google will cut off last characters.
Now that we know about meta tags, we are going to talk about keywords.
If there is any improvement you think needs to be made to this training I would say maybe add a relevant image on each page. However even if you do not think you would want to do that, your content is still written well enough to make this a great training resource as it stands now.
Great job!!!
