Keywords play such an important role in your site. You first do a lot of analysis on which one to use and how well it should rank. However, if you are not using them properly on your site, then you are shooting yourself in the foot so to speak.

You do not want to stuff keywords on your page. You want to pick one to target and use it wisely on your page. Stuffing keywords will get your post marked by google and it will not get ranked. Your true goal is to write to your customer not to seo. So you use them where they make sense.

Here are some simple rules for Keywords and On-page Optimization:

1. Use your keyword in the first paragraph of your post. Usually within the first 25 words.
2. Use your keyword in the last paragraph of your post. Usually within the last 25 words.
3. Try to use your keyword once or twice in the middle of your article where it would make sense.

Keyword density is the percentage of times your keyword appears in the text compared to all the other words in your article. A good keyword density would be about 2.3%.

Here is a list of places you should use your keywords:

• Title
• <H1>....<H6> tags
• 1st 25 words on post
• Last 25 words on post
• Bold your keywords at least once on your page
