Adding your own links to some of the images in your website is a colossal way to add value to your pages by putting this option to work for you!

Some Advice:

My word of advice is that you don't want to overdo this. Either remove or replace the default link that's associated with all of your images, but don't put too many links on a page (especially if you have a lot of images on it.) This may come through to the search engines as spamming, and if you have links going in all directions, this may confuse your readers and sending them through a maze instead of a website.

I normally hyperlink two or three images on a page and have no more than two or three destinations per page. If I have destinations that are, for example going to a resource on some outside, external website, say a graph or, as in a case on my site, to a TOS (terms of service) page, I have this page open into a new window.

I might have links go to related pages on my site, those that enhance the reading of the page the links are on, or to my review at the end of the article. I follow suite with images, so I may have as many as six or seven links on content area of that page.

I hope you've enjoyed this Resource and please remember to "like" it if you indeed have.

great and detailed, to the extent that the process is easily understood and we can focus on the "reasons why". Captions under pictures can also give the heads up as to what will happen when a reader clicks on a picture...some of think better pictorially after all- if that makes sense..

I refrain from captions. My experience with them is that they can screw up and wind up mixed up with the other text. I don't know why, but it does happen. It seems to happen more often when you've chosen no border around the images. I personally don't like borders around mine, so it's kinda a give and take situation.
