Lesson 1: YES this Plugin Does WORK!

1. Open up 2 separate Browser windows SIDE-by-SIDE on your screen (as shown below)

  • Your LEFT browser window will be for your Originating or "From" account (i.e. WA Siterubix), and your RIGHT-SIDE browser window will be for your Destination or "To" account (i.e. Go Daddy).

  • You will be moving your website from LEFT (your "From" account) to RIGHT (your "To" account)

  • Now LOGIN to BOTH of your hosting accounts.

(*Note: You should now see BOTH Word Press Dashboards for each hosting account on BOTH sides.).

2. Go to Plugins > Add New for BOTH hosting accounts, and type in All in One WP Migration in the Search Bar on BOTH sides.

Once the plugin comes up in BOTH places, select and install the All in One WP Migration plugin on BOTH sides (your "From" account on the Left, and your "To" account on the Right) by clicking Install and then Activate.

The All in One Migration plugin should now show as being active for BOTH hosting accounts.

When you are ready, click "Next Page" and go to Lesson 2.

I found out why the all in one wordpress tric doesn't work anymore.
The older version of the All in One WordpressMigration plugin does work with the increase limit size but when u update it stops working.

So download the older version of the plugin and u can stil use the increase size tric. But using the ftp way is way easier and faster.

Does this move the theme as well?
Reply
jetrbby80316 Premium
YES Ash, the plugin moves the theme, the datatbase, the images, the plugins - in other words as I described in the article the whole "kit and caboodle"!

Thanks for your comment:)

I must have missed something. But don't you have to have an existing account and domain set up on "GoDaddy" for instance to receive the migrating WP files?
Reply
jetrbby80316 Premium
Sure Glen, and we did., You need an account setup on both ends.

So if I have a website with a domain of xyz dot.com hosted by WA, I cannot migrate this website to Google with the same domain name.

Your example shows two separate WP admin areas. But they cannot both be xyz dot com. So am I wrong to assume one is xyz.siterubix dot com?

I'm with you Glen. You can't buy a domain name that is already taken. I have a domain at GoDaddy that I would like to move over to WA but I'm not sure how to do it using Kaju's method. The trick to me is figuring out the destination without a domain name set up.

No Glen, they are NOT the same domain names at all, WA and GoDaddy have different doman names. Just the same content is being transferred.

First of all, my test site from WA s a siterubix test site, when it gets migrated to GoDaddy (or any other host) it has a different .com domain name.

Perhaps you are not understanding Brenda. Nor is Glen. We are not using the same domain name at Go Daddy(or any "To" site) as we use in WA. WA is a siterubix.com subdomain, and the destination is a different domain name.

When you move a website (meaning the files) from an originating host to a destination host, the content you are moving is separate of tany domain name.

I've already covered this with a video. It's simply the best and easiest way to move your site. Instructions for removing the file size limit can be found here:

https://ryankozak.com/all-in-one-migration-sizelimit/

You only need to edit the file upload size on your "TO" computer.

My clear instructions are in here as well.

I have used other backup plugins and was disappointed that they didn't put my site "back the way it was" - there was too much extra messing around that you had to do. With AIO Migration, it's so simple. I even use the substitution feature to move sites from one domain to the other. Easy Peasy!
