Now that you have made the decision to change and are willing to be coached, you are 50% there !

This is the first thing you must change, is how you see yourself. Now, you can go out with the right thoughts to talk to people each time you go out. You have probably in the past seen yourself as a sales person that needed to get someone to buy from you. Wow! That just stopped you in your tracks.

So, what I want you to do is change that to this: I want you to see yourself as a professional visitor. This means you will at first just go out and talk to people as you go. You may do this 3 or 4 times. What you will talk about will depend on how each person you meet response to you. Now, remember the only thing you are doing is meeting people. Do not try to tell them anything about WA or your products or your company right now. Your only goal is to go about visiting as you go and make contact, face- to- face.

Some of you may say, "where do I go?" That is the easy part. Many places you are already going to.

Here is a lists:

1-You may be on your way to work and stop to get gas.

2- You may be at work.

3- You may be on you lunch break.

4-You may be on your way home and stop to pick up some food, or anything that you stop to get before you get home..

5- You may be on your day off and need to go to the Mall in your town or to a big box store.

Now, If you want to speed things up some because you don't go many place on the way to work, just list a route of places you will go on your day off.

Like this:

1- Go to a small store you have not been to and buy a drink.

2 - Go to the local book store and look around.

3 - Go to a big box store.

4 - Go to a place you have not had lunch.

5 - Go to any hobby shop that you may have some interest in.

6 - Go visit some friends you have not seen in a while.

7- Go walk the mall if you have one in your town

8 - Go to your local library.

Now, remember do not talk about what you can offer people or sell to them. Just be a pro-visitor. You need to do this until you feel good about being a pro-visitor. I want you to just talk about what they seem to want to talk about. If they don't say anything then you don't say anything either.

Now, what if they do say something, or ask you something, or just comment to you? How you respond will cause them to respond and that is what you want as a pro visitor. You now have a breakthrough.

I will cover some of what might happen and what you will say to people as you go about visiting in the next page.

Here is what you will tell them or say as you meet them.

An excellent article! You have given a lot of good advice, and if people will apply it they definitely will be helped. Your advice could be applied to an online websites, emails, and phone calls as well as in-person.

I have had tons of experience with cold-calling on the phone as well as in-person. The thing that helped me the most was when I realized that if someone said "no", it wasn't a "no" to me personally. It was either because of problems they were having or they just weren't interested in what I was sharing. When I realized this my results improved greatly.

Realize that not every person is going to say "yes" to what you have to offer. Make a game out of it. See how many "sales" you can get out of ten people, then try to improve on that first result.

Keep track of your results. I was almost always the top producer when I sold coupon books door-to-door. Same thing for newspaper subscriptions over the phone. My wife was always amazed that I could predict how much money I would earn in a week, (within $10 or so) even though I was selling on straight commission.

How did I do it? I kept track of my hours and my results, so I knew my average # of sales per hour. Average # of sales per hour times my commission equals my $ per hour. Multiply that by hours worked and voila! How much $ I would earn per week.

I've rambled long enough. Hopefully this will help someone. One last thought: the more you do it (talking to people or ??), the easier it becomes.

Very well done! I might suggest that you remind your readers how making one contact that turns into business is dynamite because, used properly, it releases self-confidence and excitement. When that thought becomes a belief, fears are quickly left behind. I don't recall the trainer who said that when you get a "no," just mentally announce with excitement, "NEXT!"
