What are those factors you must consider if you are moving from a classic homepage to a static one?
1. What type of homepage would be most suitable for your blog?
Let's say, for instance, you were blogging purposely to make fun or, perhaps, blogging just to create some hobbies, it would be good to stick to the classic model which is the usual default in most WordPress themes. So, moving it to the static model may not do your audience any good.
But if your motive for blogging is to make cool and legitimate money, then moving your default classic homepage to a static one would be most suitable as that will definitely make it possible for your clients to quickly get to know who you are, what your blog is all about, the resources you provided on your blog and many more.
Furthermore, using a static homepage for your blog will help you direct your visitors' attention to specific things or actions relating to buying eBooks, booking coaching sessions with you, enrolling for seminars or webinars, and lots more.
As for those who have been on a static homepage already finding it more suitable for their blogs, kudos! What you only need to do to perfect your blogging experience and drive lots of sales is ensure that the settings are very okay to fulfill that purpose for which it's chosen. If not, you may still be missing out.
2. How do you earn with your blog?
If your blog is about traffic generation, then a classic homepage may be alright for your blogging experience rather than changing to a static one. It would be okay having a list of posts on your homepage as that may encourage or pull out tons of page views and impressions.
So, there may be no valid reason to send people to a static homepage where attention might need to be drawn in as much as the blog is mainly for traffic generation purpose only.
Perhaps, if you are simply blogging to showcase your freelancing resource, then you may either use any one of the homepages or, simply, check out on what niche related blogs are using for their own business.
