Lesson 3: Setting Filters, Captions, Tags, and Hashtags
*Note: This training assumes you will be able to setup and create your Instagram and Canva profiles and usernames and passwords.
This lesson instructs you how to set your image filters, write captions, choose tags, and select relevant hashtags to maximize your engagement and so Instagram users can find you before you are ready to Repost.
Setting Filters, Captions, Tags, and Hashtags
15. Crop your photo only if needed, then select arrow at the top right.
16. On the next screen, you can change the Filter of the image. Almost all the time, I use the default which is “Normal”. If you are satisfied with the Filter, select “Next”.
17. On the next screen, you will write a caption for your Repost.
When writing your caption for your Repost, MAKE SURE YOU GIVE ORIGINAL ACCOUNT NAME who crested the original image i.e., ItsDougthe Pug, PROPER ATTRIBUTION by indicating in the caption “Photo courtesy of @Instagram account name”.
Include all relevant hashtags associated with the image you are posting. Only select hashtags that BEST hashtags that describe the nature and spirit of the image you are Reposting.
Add any emoticons you might like. i.e., camera after “photo” and dog after “pugsnotdrugs”.
18. Tag any people and share on other Social Media if you choose to.
19. Add any final hashtags and recheck your caption.
If you are satisfied, you can select “Share” at the top right, but for the sake of this full lesson I will next show you how to save this repost in Draft so you can repost later.
When you are ready, go to Lesson 4 by clicking “Next Page”
