Lesson 1: Searching for Images to Repost
*Note: This training assumes you will be able to setup and create your Instagram and Canva profiles and usernames and passwords.
This lesson instructs you how to effectively search for images on the Instagram feed and by “grabbing” images through search off Instagram individual user accounts for reposting on your own Instagram account.
Searching for Images to Repost
1. On your smartphone, select the “Instagram” icon.
2. Once in Instagram, select the “House” icon on the bottom far LEFT of the page to open your Instagram feed. Your Instagram feed represents all the images YOUR FOLLOWERS have recently posted, the most recent appearing at the top of the feed.
Here you can scroll through all the various images and choose an image for reposting.
3. Alternatively, if you already have an image in mind from one of your favorite Instagram accounts, you can select the “Search” icon on the bottom, second from the far left.
4. Next, you type in a portion of the account name in the Search Barat the Top to select the account you are looking for, and once in the account select the specific image within that account you want to repost on Instagram. This is the method example we will use for this training.
As you can see, I have selected my favorite Instagram pooch Doug the Pug using his Instagram handle “ItsDougthePug”.
Now I select by tapping on ItsDougthePug in the scroll down menu below “Top” and it will take me to Doug the Pug’s Instagram account.
5. You know you are in Doug the Pug’s account when you see “Posts”, “Followers”, and “Following” on top of the phone screen. As you can see Doug is a very popular chap currently with 3.4 Million followers and counting!!
Now go to the “Gallery” at the bottom, and select the photo you want to Repost. This will bring up the photo you’ve selected in the original post.
6. Select the 3 horizontal dotson the top right of the screen.
7. The screen will turn dark grey and in the center a dialog box will appear. Select “Copy Link.”
8. The next screen will show you “The post’s shareable link has been copied to the clipboard”with the post’s main photo reappearing in the background.
You are now ready to prepare the Repost.
When you are ready, go to Lesson 2 by clicking “Next Page”
