While you are on the task of creating menus, you could tidy the remaining menus on your site.

Instructions:

View your site and take note of all the menus, archives, categories etc., that appear on your sidebar. Unless you have already amended/deleted some of these, you will probably have:

The Main Menu (that you have just created as a widget)

A Search Button

Recent Posts

Recent Comments

Archives

and Categories

Let’s look at these in detail:

The Main Menu – this is a list of the main pages (not posts) that your site consists of and it is designed to help your visitors to navigate your site. –no action necessary.

A Search Button – is useful to visitors of your site, who have looked at a post in the past that has since been archived or they cannot remember which page an item is on, or maybe they just want to quickly navigate your site for something they already know is there. –no action necessary.

Recent Posts – this is a list of your recent posts or blogs that you have written. It can be managed in the Widget Area, where you can control the number of posts to be shown and you can if you wish add a post date. Other than making a decision on the management of this widget, no other action is necessary as this further helps your visitors to navigate around your site.

Recent Comments – these are a matter of choice. I didn’t bother having them on my sidebar until recently and I may even take them off again. The only advantage to having them as far as I can see is to remind visitors that they can comment but they will see this when they scroll to the bottom of your pages or posts. They can also be managed in the Widget Area, where again you can control the number of posts to be shown or they can be deleted. The beauty of the widgets is they can be deleted and re-added to the Widget Area as you see fit.

Archives – this is a complete list of your posts (managed within the Widget Area where you can choose to have them shown as a list by month (with or without post counts) or have a dropdown menu (again with or without post counts), which is a good idea especially if your list is accumulating. This is also useful to visitors who are looking for historical posts on your site.

Categories – I’ll be honest, I don’t know much about categories, but I have found a useful site to explain them better than I can. See https://managewp.com/wordpress-categories-tags-seo

I am very confused about adding my logo to the SKT Spa theme. It goes on too small. When I try to re-size it , it goes back by default.
