I am sure it will, I am on the edge of leaving the ambassadorship, I hope to switch places with you:)) That would feel so good

You've been an Ambassador for so long and it's been so well deserved. I'm disgusted with the lengths some people are going to to get a high ranking here. 3 posts a day, 5 hours every day in Live Chat, linking to their own blogs in welcome messages to new premium members. Where will it end? I'm glad I fell off the ambassador perch.

I am about to follow you very soon now, it's as you say, it's the choice Kyle and Carson made what's considered "important" for the ambassador title.

In my opinion, it's a farce...

Personally I don't get why people would go to those lengths to get a high ranking here.
I joined Wealthy Affiliate as a premium member to learn about affiliate marketing and make money and a better life for myself and my family.
Becoming an Ambassador won't make me money and it won't make me feel special either.
If I ever did become an Ambassador then I would hope I'd earned it properly and that I could help people the same way I see other Ambassadors like yourself (before), Loes and others.
I too see how some people seem to only care about achieving a high ranking in Wealthy Affiliate, when they should be concentrating on getting their business working and making money like the training here teaches you.
What's the point of becoming an Ambassador if you can't really help anybody out properly anyway?
To be honest, I would be embarrassed to be an Ambassador as there is still so much more I need to learn. I would feel like a Charlatan.
I'm not surprised you're disgusted with the lengths people go.
There are some great Ambassadors here that deserve to be there.
My worry is that some of them WILL leave their Ambassadorship because of others and that's not good.
Maybe something should change in the way people become Ambassadors.

Well said Marion,

as for me I didn't 'fall' off ambassadorship I jumped because it was so crazy the lengths people go to to protect in-house rank, and the top helper system was so embarassing farmed out to the hyperactive people that in the end I couldn't launch my bootcamp site as I'd have lost credibility with my audience who are worth much more to me than a WA commission.

I've resigned twice from ambassadorship, and helping. Thanks for your video, great idea, too much bluff being sent newbies by 'top helpers' and 'ambassadors' and that system is just getting stronger unfortunately.

As Loes says, it's the path the owners have chosen for Ambassadors.

We needed something to reinforce the bond between new members and their referrers.

yes and it has gone the opposite direction

also true that it's in the beginners training that newbies should shoot for ambassador, I've seen one or two newbies ask were their ears deceiving them, as sane people know that is not how things should work, yet so many believe they deserve it - the owners have created WA for one particular audience now

I too, have been ambassador on several different occasions. I think a total of about 300 days combined. I didn't benefit one bit. Not a sausage as is mentioned in a blog post somewhere about "special" benefits for ambassadors. Anyhoo, I didn't get there by spamming new members' profiles (starters or premiums)...Each time I got there with an occasional blog post, an occasional video training, and mainly answering questions in live chat, within blog/and training comments, etc.

The system is being gamed. I am SICK and TIRED of a couple of members (let's say they're in the top 100 here) because of them SPAMMING my new referrals with their OWN links to blog posts/training stuff they've done. They're just trying to game the ranking.

It p*sses me off because...

1) I want to pre-frame "MY" referrals the way I have been to get them into WA. I don't want them "PUT OFF WA" by being sent to a jumped up, self appointed prefect who loves NOTHING MORE than to lay down the law whenever they get a chance. It's VERY very discouraging to new members who are just trying to find their feet, being sent to blog posts telling them to get lawyers and accountants...Nobody wants to hear that sh*t when they've just joined something and they want to see what it's all about. It would make me think "Oh blimey, lawyers? accountants?....oooof....I'm not staying here...."

2) Even though the spammer isn't making money directly from sending their spam to my referrals (and thousands of other people's referrals) they are CLEARLY promoting themselves as authorities or something special. They are "UNDERMINING ME" They are ruining my process of warming people up slowly to WA. I have a set sequence of messages for them to do that. I don't want it interfered with in any way with stuff that puts them off, diverts them, makes them worry about stuff they don't need to worry about yet...it's wrong.

I forgot to mention the word "jobsworth"...you know...remember when you were at school and there was always that ONE kid in your class who would grass you up every time they got a chance?

Someone who loves rules and regulations a little bit too much. The irony here is, that jobsworth I'm speaking of is breaking the No spam rules herself...ooops, I said her....now it's a bit easier to work out who I'm referring to. Never mind. 50% narrowed down.

I'd include half the 'top helper' list in this though, and when and if they stop there'll be a new wave behind them coming in to pick up the exact same stuff, that's what you see after 4 years...I used to blame the people but now I know it's inbuilt in the algorithm and training here to reward that sort of behavior and personality

I've tried saying that to Kyle, I can't bring people in here to hand them over to hyperactive 'top helpers' some of whom just think being friendly cuts it, my referrals think like me and see through 'cuddles' when they aren't backed up by knowledge and yes they are totally being bombed on their profile pages soon as they are in the door with advice I would not give. My automated messages actually have Marion's training as a link to newbies, yet they get sent to other people despite my best efforts in here and if those people outrank me by answering every question wrongly then the newbie still sees their rank as authority over anything I say!

When I was helping out there were a number of people so intent on protecting their rank that they buried the real help including an important training I'd made, I hope you show your comment to Kyle, I tried to tell him I felt that way a very long time ago, but when it's only one person it doesn't have the same impact.
