Google and all of the other search engines are very smart, some will say even smarter than most people, in figuring out what your content is about without reading your target keyword more than twice. Let me give you an example of some content I just read on someone’s website.
THE WRONG & RIGHT WAY TO USE KEYWORDS
Below is an exact word for word copy of the title and first part of a review that a WA member did on their website. I am not going to reveal the member’s name or domain name to help keep their identity secret. If this website is yours, I highly recommend you change your content.
THE WRONG WAY
“Designer Coats for Women Review: Ladies Designer Coats”
“Product Name: Ladies Designer Coats
Product Description: Designer Coats for Women
Product URL: [The Website’s Domain Name]
Product Owner: Clothing Designer
Product Rating: FIVE Stars
Product Reviewer: Designer Clothing Brands”
“Hello welcome to designer clothing brands. Today we will be discussing ladies designer coats. Designer coats for ladies are some of the nicest designer clothing brands. I will be talking about designer coats for women. How they play a supporting role in staying warm and at the same time being stylish.”
“Ladies designer coats hold true to being some of the best women designer clothing brands made. Stylish and elegantly designed designer coats for women have a beauty like no other. Whether it is designer coats for women or ladies designer coats. You can always find them when luxury shopping online. Through some of the best luxury shopping sites on the internet.”
WAS THAT A BIT TOO MUCH?
Can you figure out what the target keywords are in that above example? It does seem very obvious what the content writer wanted to be ranked for. I entered them into Jaaxy and found three of them, two of them had low hanging fruit results, see Jaaxy results below.
Designer Coats for Women - 242 Searches - 42 Traffic - 50 QSR - 97 SEO
Ladies Designer Coats - 220 Searches - 38 Traffic - 92 QSR - 93 SEO
Designer Clothing Brands - 256 Searches - 44 Traffic - 142 QSR - 92 SEO
Below is an example of how I would have written the content. As you will read, I will use the same three keywords listed above but in a more responsible and easier to read way. The search engines would enjoy my version far better and rank it higher.
THE RIGHT WAY

DID YOU SEE THE DIFFERENCE?
Which one would you rather read if you were searching for information using this target keyword? Did you figure out what the content was about in the second example without reading the target keyword more than once or twice? If you could, Google certainly can too.
This is proof that you do not have to use your target keyword more than once or twice to get the search engines or any human reader to know what your content is about. Always remember that you are writing your content for the human reader NOT to get rankings.
