There are a few ways you can post on Google+. They are shown next to the word “Attach:” and they are as a Photo, Link, Video, Event, or Poll. For the sake of better Google rankings for my Wealthy Affiliate Review, I will attach it as a Link. I could attach a photo and then attach my link to the photo, but that doesn’t pass any link juice on to my website link.
Now I click on the word “Link” and the rest of the attachment options are covered with a blank bar for me to paste in the website link for my WA Review, as seen in the above image. As soon as I paste my website link in the attach bar, Google+ will go and fetch it. Then it will display one of the first images that I have on my post along with the title and Meta Description, see image below.
If I do not want that image I can mouse-over the image and two arrows will appear that allow me to scroll through the available images. When I find the image I am happy with, I click “Share” and my post is now live on my Google+ profile. As you can see in the below image, some of the text is bold and some italicized. This helps it to stand out more when it appears on the Google+ Home Feed.
If you do decide to post a photo instead of a straight up link like did in my description above, then make sure the photo/image is relevant to the link you are posting. You also want to make sure that you place your corresponding website link within the text area just after your snippet of text but before the hashtags. This will not add link juice but it is the only way to get people to your website.
NEXT UP = How to increase your followers and build CirclesQuick question about adding links. I just paste my link right where I type my description and then the link is automatically generated to pull up my site. Is it better to actually manually attach the link they way you do?
