When you grow your followers in Google+ you can put them into “Circles” such as your circle of friends. Basically these are categories that you can place your followers into so that you can better target your marketing efforts, should you have more than one thing you are marketing like I do.

For example, I use my Google+ profile to market my Video Game website, my Natural Health website, and my WA / Internet Marketing website. So I have set up a Video Games circle, a Natural Health circle, and an Internet Marketing circle. I place people who are interested in those particular niches within their respective circles, which makes it easier to target them based on what I want to share.

I have also set up other Circles to handle more groups of people. I have a Follow Circle for everyone from WA, an Incoming Add Circle for people who seek to follow me but I cannot determine which circle they should go into, an Acquaintance Circle for people I seek to follow that are not part of any other circle, and a Friends Circle for my friends that happen to be on Google Plus.

HOW TO BUILD A CIRCLE

Whenever you come upon a potential person or organization (company) that you wish to follow, you would mouse-over their username and their profile preview placard will appear, as seen in the image above. You would then point to the + Follow button (personal accounts will say + Add) and a pop up menu will appear where you can add them to existing circles you have created or you can create a new circle, see image below.

HOW TO GAIN MORE FOLLOWERS

As is true with all social media networks, in order to gain more followers you MUST interact with people to get them to notice you before you follow them. This is the social aspect of social media. Just like Kyle instructs you in the WA training to interact with other members, you would do the same thing on social media if you want more followers. Social media and the WA community are pretty much the same.

But you also must provide your potential followers something that they can relate to that would make them want to follow you back. Just because you made a couple of comments on their posts, +1 (liked) them, or even re-shared their post, may not be enough for them to follow you back or want to follow you.

You want to provide your potential followers with a variety of posts. Like in the image above I posted a video of a battle scene from the movie Star Wars and a Pinterest post on Motivational Quotes of Entrepreneurs, along with a post from my WA Promotional website.

When you give those looking at your profile a variety of things to look at and not just posts all pertaining to your niche, people will feel more inclined to want to follow you back or follow you first with hopes that you follow them back. Would you want to follow someone who posts nothing but a niche you are not interested in?

Depending on your niche you may want a cross section of people as your followers. Whereas not many are into the Video Games niche, most people are into the Health & Wellness niche as well as the Make Money Online niche. So I offer a variety of posts on my Google Plus Profile to attract a broad audience.

Thank you Ralph. Google+ is the one network I spent a lot of time learning about and building up ever since I learned from Kyle that it would help my Google rankings with my websites.

Though the Authorship aspect of Google+ is no more, it is still helpful in building up author rank and giving Google a way to better connect my Google+ profile to my website.

Thank you Brian. Google+ is probably the one social network I know the most about and has helped my website rankings the most.

Thanks for sharing this. I may be in the minority, but I prefer the written tutorials with images as opposed to video. This way I can read at my own pace without having to constantly pause and go back in the video. And I can read when my kids are around, its much harder to watch a video with them yelling in the background.

Quick question about adding links. I just paste my link right where I type my description and then the link is automatically generated to pull up my site. Is it better to actually manually attach the link they way you do?

Are you saying that you paste your link into the area where you are typing up your description? If yes, though you could still do that, it is better for SEO rankings to place it with the Link attachment.

I used to do it the way you are doing it but later found out in a Google community that you should only do it that way when you post a picture.

When you are posting just the link like I did in this training, you should use the Link attachment so that it passes some "link juice" for better rankings.
