Now it is time to take our screenshot. There are a couple ways of doing this depending on what version of Windows you are in.

Windows 8: Hold the windows key on your keyboard (the one with the Windows logo) and press the "Print Screen" key. You will see a flash and the image will be saved to a folder called "Screenshots" in your images library.

Windows 7 or Below: Press the "Print Screen" key on your keyboard. Go into a program like Paint and press ctrl+v to paste. This will paste your screenshot in. Now use Paint to save it as an image.

Perhaps you could look into software that simulates the print screen button?

Thanks for the feedback. Taking screenshots is a necessity in this business and there's not many resources on how to take professional screenshots so I thought I'd publish this.

Now thats just cool. I would look for a chrome extension to do all that but still, that is fricking cool.

If you were looking to take pictures of web pages a chrome extension would work. However, this is geared towards taking a picture of certain computer programs, all of which may not be full-screen. Here is an example of a post where I use this tactic: http://blazingfastpc.com/how-to-use-oracle-vm-virtualbox

so a virtual operating system works in this case? What are the advantages.

The virtual operating system thing is unrelated to this training. That was simply an example of how I used this method of taking screenshots in one of my posts on my own website.
