I'll keep this one short and sweet: Internal Linking!

While it sounds pretty simple and self-explanatory, internal linking can have a significant impact on your website functionality and rankings on the Search Engines.

Google and the other search engines don't like too many External Links - they will just interpret this as spam and reject this aspect of your website. Internal links, however, help you to gain the trust of the search engines, increase your click-through rate and generally make it a more user-friendly experience for your website visitors.

So what is internal linking? you may ask.

Essentially, it just consists of posting or pasting links from one page of your website to another. You may have an introductory page (for example) that has links to a review or a training video that is also on your website.

Rather than the website viewer or reader having to go back to your main menu after each page they visit (which incidentally will probably just deter them and you will lose traffic) they can click on the link to a related theme and automatically be directed to another page. This will increase your conversion rates over time.

I personally use the "Pretty Link" plug-in when adding internal links within Wordpress Editor so that I can "tidy up" or customise my links and make navigating around my website an easy task for the reader.

Cheers, hope this helps :)

You don't actually install it on your website. I'll send you a link, it will probably explain it better than me... :)

Hey Mac, thanks for this training! Just one question... I have the all in one SEO plugin, but on my page that shows all my posts it says...

SEO Title: No Title
SEO Description: No Description
SEO Keywords: No Keywords

Should i touch these sections?

Kyle hasn't mentioned them at all in the Bootcamp yet and I'm on course 5.

Thanks,
~Ryan

Thanks for reading, Ryan. Hope you've got a few ideas from it..

You may recall in one of the early Bootcamp videos (Lesson 2 or 3), Kyle typed some keywords (Wealthy Affiliate, SEO and a few others) into the meta section as he was editing one of his pages, below where the written content goes in WP Editor. That's all you need to do.

The "Title" and "Description" are what will appear on Google when people conduct a search, so make sure they contain your main keyword too; the "Keywords" can be any words or phrases that you may think are relevant to your page...

I'll find Kyle's video and post it to you later. :)
