1. Did you create an Email Forward website email in SiteEmail:
We can create two types of website emails in SiteEmail on the SiteRubix platform, i.e. email forwards and webmail. The webmail address is for accessing email on the hosting platform and not from your personal gmail. The email forward is what allows you access to website email in your gmail.
2. Choose the correct SMTP details for the appropriate domain email:
We can have a number of website emails, email forwards, so if you are attaching your 'admin@yourwebsite.com' email to your gmail then make sure you don't grab the SMTP settings for your 'support@yourwebsite.com' forward email.
Attention to detail there will help avoid getting an error message in the confirmation yellow box.
3. Did you confirm/verify your domain email in gmail:
The yellow box that asks you to click a link in gmail will take you to a confirmation button, it's a two step process, make sure when they take you to that button that you actually click it!
You can check if your new domain email address is verified in the 'Send Mail As' section within the Accounts and Import tab in Settings [this is the route we used in step 2]
4. Remember to choose which email in your personal gmail that you are actually sending your email from each time - whether that is personal or private:
You'd be surprised how easy it is to forget to actually choose which email you are sending from, no harm, but sort of defeats your purpose and gets some amusing responses from your friends.
It is possible to set up gmail to make your website email the default address - that is an individual preference, it will suit some people to operate a number of addresses from one centralized personal gmail account, yet other people may want a dedicated one gmail account to use for their website and send 'from' one default website address.
I will add any troubleshooting tips to this list as they come up from your experience.
Happy setting up and professional website emailing from your gmail!
