More About Embedding Videos
Setting the Starting Point to Video
You may want to start and end your video at specific times within the video. Don't worry you do not have to sit there with a stop watch and time your video. While watching the video, you can at any timeright-click the mouse and the following screen will appear:
You can "copy video URL at current time" and get the time from there. You can then paste the new URL and it will be something like this:
Please note the video URL and the embed URL are not the same thing. You cannot copy the video URL (example above) for purposes of embedding.
You will want to copy the video URL into the embed URL. The part of the code that was added as a result of selecting "copy video URL at current time" is the t=39. The t variable stands for time. The number 39 represents the start time of the video to be 39 seconds into the video. It appears at the end of the video URL as shown here:
You can can copy either copy the entire video URL or just the t=39 variable and add it to the embed code.
Here is the embed code before the time variable is inserted:
Here is what the embed code will look like after the newly updated video URL is inserted:
Notice the time variable of 39 seconds circled in red.
Set Start and Ending Point to Video
That will start the video 39 seconds into it. Now, if you want to set a start and end time, the parameters to be added to the end of the video URL are:
?start=XX&end=XX
What this translates to the start time being XX (replace the XX with a start time) and end time being XX (replace the XX with an end time). Note: the time must be an integer number of seconds. You cannot use something like 2m ("m" being for minutes). You would need to say 120 seconds.
So, below is an example of what a video URL might look like with a starting and ending time:
The embed code will look something like this:
I created a page on one of my WA test sites to show you a video embedded which starts 30 seconds into the video and ends 45 seconds into thus, the actual video is only 15 seconds. It is a trailer from the movie Secret Life of Pets.
Click here to see the page on my test site using a start and ending point for the video.
Unless you have bought the item then you can talk about it, I suppose also it depends on what your blogs about too.
I have done plenty of post on HiFi etc and WA stuff, but I use other people's Video`s which it makes it quite easy to do.
I did a test on my android phone and it put ME OFF! lol.
I think with video`s you have to come across as quite natural and try to speak and look with some sort of conviction. I know you can use words on paper or don`t have your video on you, it's not that I am shy or anything , I just think people ain`t going to stay on there long if it`s piffle.
Any suggestions would be most appreciative.
