You will now be directed to the Pixlr Desktop. It will look like this:

1. Your editing tools are on the left side
2. Your "canvas" is in the middle. This is where you will be creating your logo
3. Your layers are on your right. Where all of your editing gets placed, where you can reference each edit, delete changes you've made etc.
4. Your toolbar is on top. File, Edit, Image, etc.

To Create Your Logo from an existing Picture
1. Go to your toolbar, go to File, Choose Open Image
2. Choose your image from your computer file.
3. Another image box will open up on top of your canvas. (see below)

Your picture will need to be resized to be used in the header.
1. Click on "Image" on your toolbar
2. Click on "Image Size"
3. Resize the height of the picture (as we are specifically working on a header in this case), be sure that "constrain proportions" is checked

Your image will now be small enough to add to your canvas.
1. Click on "Edit", "select all"
2. Click on "Copy"

Switch to your Canvas - click on your canvas
1. Click on "edit", "Paste"

Your Picture should now be in the center of your canvas.

You can now exit out of the imported image. No need to save changes.
Keep your Canvas open - Titled "Our Custom Logo"

To move your logo to the left, we will use the "move" tool:

Click on the "Move" tool, then go back to your image and drag it to the position you want it to reside.

There are many options to complete the header.
1. You can fill the remainder of the header with color
2. You can add text
3. You can add additional pictures on top of pictures.

This is a great tool and makes things pretty simple. When you are ready to take it to the next level and create some really awesome effects, GIMP is the way to go. It is basically a free version of Photoshop. https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/training/best-easy-method-to-create-a-professional-looking-header-for-websites It does take some time to understand all of the nuances though.

Thanks! I never saw this link when searching for it here at WA. But I will have to give it a shot. When I was on the Word Press forums, when they weren't recommending code, they mentioned GIMP. I looked at that site first, but I have to admit, I was a bit intimidated! But now I think I can give it a shot! Thanks!!
