2. How to format your lists accurately

While making lists in your posts, you still must be conscious of the common grammatical mistakes or errors, punctuation marks and the use of grammar in all paragraphs. Let me state some simple rules that will guide you in writing a well-formatted list post.

The following are the basic rules that must be followed in the process of writing your list posts:

  • Make sure to begin each of the pieces on your list with a block letter.
  • Make sure to connect the introduction with each of the pieces on your list. You connect properly by reading the introduction with each piece making sure it makes a meaningful and complete sentence and it's grammatically accurate.
  • In the event that a piece on your list contains more than a sentence, make sure to end each sentence with a full stop.
  • If it happens that each piece on your lists contains only a phrase or a single word, then a full stop is not necessary. But you must make sure to be consistent in all of the pieces.
  • The punctuation marks such as the full stop, comma, colon, semi-colon, apostrophe, and the quotation mark must be carefully observed as this will surely have some impact on your overall search engine rankings.

From a clear analysis, it's been observed that list posts get more readership and readability than other writing styles. And if you can occasionally endeavor to include lists in your posts, you will retain more readers than ever.

Readers love lists in blog posts as they easily get details in them and grab fast. Lists help writers provide in-depth and well-written posts to satisfy the readers' appetites for quality and informative content.

Great info and I have started using lists for reasons you have indicated. I have found personally that when a post appears rather long and have 't time to read all I tend to read the list mostly. Thanks again.

Yes, you are very correct, my friend. When posts become so long, readers may not want to stay longer to read down the page. So, it's better to add lists to your content in strategic areas. Thanks for the visit!
