The purpose of this training tutorial is twofold. One, it is to prevent you from making the mistake of thinking you are highly ranked in the search engine results pages (SERP) shortly after publishing your content. And Two, showing you how to correctly search your keywords.

That latter point is very important because we all have search history cookies saved on out computers and mobile devices. These help to speed up the loading of internet content we use most often. Using a Private Browsing Mode will effectively bypass the cookies.

When you can bypass the cookies you are in essence doing your search from a brand new search history. This will then return more accurate results for your keyword query. If you should not see your content within the first 5 or 10 pages of Google, don’t get discouraged.

YOU CANNOT RUSH GOOGLE

It takes time, several weeks, for some content to rise up in the SERP. A more mature website that has already established authority in its chosen niche will take less time. A newer website could take longer, especially if it does not have about a dozen published pieces of content.

This is the reason why you hear many members say to just keep writing content with low competition keywords. The more you write and publish, the sooner your website will gain authority. Just remember that you cannot rush Google into getting your content to rank, but you can rush them to index your content, see link below.

How To Get Your Content Indexed In Google Within Hours

Google will take action on your rankings pushing you up or pulling you down dependent upon the many (over 200) Google ranking factors. You do not need to know all of them and quite frankly if you did, many of them you cannot have any direct impact on. Just follow the WA training.

Do not be in too much of a rush to get on Page One of the search engines, it will happen if it is meant to be. The competition is fierce regardless if you have a good keyword or not. Focus on providing unique informative content that is meant for a human reader and it will rank.

Remember to first wait 10 to 14 days before searching for your keyword rankings. This way Google would have done all of their ranking factor checks. Then use Jaaxy Site Rank to see if you are on Page One or a Private Browsing Mode to see where you are ranking in the SERP.

GIVE US A CLUE: The next time you decide to post a WA blog about you getting ranked on Page One of Google, tell us in the community what that keyword is and on what website. This way we can check it too and see if you searched it correctly or if you are mistaken.

If it is the latter and the member is not ranking on Google Page One, inform them of the correct results. Then share a link to this training tutorial so they will know how to correctly search their keywords and not get a false result. It is better to know the truth so as not to proceed in error.

Hey Robert, this was really fun and something I have never really paid attention to (yeah, I know I should :). Anyway, I was pleasantly surprised to see I have ranked on page 1 and 2 for posts in the past. One of these days, I will check them all out and see what I can do for those that never ranked.

Thanks for sharing :).

Hello Robert,
I just found this little training as I was a little desperate finding my website after I got the "it is indexed" message. In my case I didnt find my website at all. BUT, what I have learned from this article, patience is the keyword. But its a hard to be patient, when you are new in the business and exited ;-)
So thanks a lot for the information!
You made me curious and I will checkout your other trainings while waiting on google and taking a break between new content articles :-)
Best Regards
Olaf

This training made my day.

I have a website, recently created, and a page within the website is titled Automotive Gadgets.

By using the Private Browsing Mode in FireFox and using Yahoo Search, I found my Automotive Page on the 2nd page of the Yahoo search results. And all I typed in to find this result were 2 words........Automotive Gadgets. This is encouraging to say the least.

Robert, thanks a ton for your training!

Boomergp08 has been a great "go to" source for getting many questions answered. I started following Boomergp08 a couple of years ago due to his knowledge and tips on building websites.

This is the reason Boomergp08 is ranked in the top 50 here at WA. I suggest that older and new WA members stay in touch with Boomergp08 and follow his posts and training.

I've been down this road, too, Rob.

It can be a rude awakening when seeing the huge difference between a Google/Bing/Yahoo keyword search on a "standard" browser and a browser in "privacy/incognito' mode.

Another thing is that, even though we may have chosen "low hanging fruit" keywords on Jaaxy, and we've waited a month or so to verify rankings in incognito mode, we should look at how many results there are in that keyword search.

Search results could be in the low hundreds - in which case we may very well be ranking on page 1 or 2.

But, those search results could also be in the millions - which leads to the hard realization that the competition is a lot tougher to overcome. And, it's very likely that it can take months - or even years - to rank high - because, we are probably competing against other quality websites that are more "well seasoned" than ours.

Yes Jim, I too have noticed this and it is one of the reasons I do not bother to always check to see where I am ranking for my target keyword. I would prefer to just keep writing content.

In doing so I give Google the time to thoroughly check my content for ranking factors, add authority by adding more content, and focus on gaining traffic. Rankings will come later.

In the beginning I was like many new members here at WA, quickly wanting to know where I am ranking. But that became a time waster and I now only care about choosing a good keyword and writing quality content.
