Just as a recap, you now know why you should wait at least 10 days after publishing your content before doing a search for your keywords on Google. You also know of the easy and accurate way to see if you are on page one of Google, Bing & Yahoo by using Jaaxy Site Rank.
Now I am going to explain how you MUST search Google and the other search engines, to find out where you are ranking if not on page one, which Jaaxy Site Rank would tell you. It is very important that you do these steps before searching, otherwise your results will be wrong.
SEARCHING DIRECTLY ON GOOGLE
I am sure you have heard many members here mention Incognito Mode. Simply put, this is the name of the Private Browsing Mode when using the Google Chrome Browser. If you are using a different browser like Firefox or Internet Explorer, it will be called by a different name.
When you go up on Google or any of the other search engines to search for where you are ranking for your keywords, you MUST do so within a Private Browsing Mode. The reason for this has to do with cookies stored on your computer that track your search history.
If you do not search your keywords while in a Private Browsing Mode the stored cookies on your computer will alter your search results to favor your most searched keyword. Some will say that you could clear your cache but doing a quick browser switch is far easier. Here’s how.
On your computer keyboard press and hold down the following keyboard keys.
WHEN USING GOOGLE CHROME BROWSER
Ctrl Shift N
WHEN USING OPERA BROWSER
Ctrl Shift N
WHEN USING MICROSOFT EDGE BROWSER
Ctrl Shift P
WHEN USING MICROSOFT INTERNET EXPLORER BROWSER
Ctrl Shift P
WHEN USING MOZILLA FIREFOX BROWSER
Ctrl Shift P
WHEN USING SAFARI BROWSER
Choose File then Choose New Private Window
OR WHEN USING MAC OS
Command Shift N
Once the Private Browsing Mode window appears it will most likely look just a little bit different in terms of color or have a small icon in one of the upper corners of the screen, as seen in above image of Incognito Mode. This is so you know you are in a Private Browsing Mode because everything else will look exactly the same.
Now all you do is bring up Google or any of the other search engines within this Private Browsing Mode window and perform your keyword search, without using quotation marks of course. Now your search results will not be influenced my your search history cookies.
NEXT UP = Why you should not be discouraged with your low rankings
Thanks for sharing :).

I just found this little training as I was a little desperate finding my website after I got the "it is indexed" message. In my case I didnt find my website at all. BUT, what I have learned from this article, patience is the keyword. But its a hard to be patient, when you are new in the business and exited ;-)
So thanks a lot for the information!
You made me curious and I will checkout your other trainings while waiting on google and taking a break between new content articles :-)
Best Regards
Olaf
I have a website, recently created, and a page within the website is titled Automotive Gadgets.
By using the Private Browsing Mode in FireFox and using Yahoo Search, I found my Automotive Page on the 2nd page of the Yahoo search results. And all I typed in to find this result were 2 words........Automotive Gadgets. This is encouraging to say the least.
Robert, thanks a ton for your training!

This is the reason Boomergp08 is ranked in the top 50 here at WA. I suggest that older and new WA members stay in touch with Boomergp08 and follow his posts and training.

It can be a rude awakening when seeing the huge difference between a Google/Bing/Yahoo keyword search on a "standard" browser and a browser in "privacy/incognito' mode.
Another thing is that, even though we may have chosen "low hanging fruit" keywords on Jaaxy, and we've waited a month or so to verify rankings in incognito mode, we should look at how many results there are in that keyword search.
Search results could be in the low hundreds - in which case we may very well be ranking on page 1 or 2.
But, those search results could also be in the millions - which leads to the hard realization that the competition is a lot tougher to overcome. And, it's very likely that it can take months - or even years - to rank high - because, we are probably competing against other quality websites that are more "well seasoned" than ours.
