In the above picture should be niche ideas we are all familiar with because I am sure we all have had to cook something at some point in our life. Let us see which sub niches are visible, and not visible, in the above picture.

  • Pots and pans – You could break this down further into Non-Stick, Stainless Steel or Aluminum
  • Microwave oven
  • Counter top convection oven
  • Toaster oven
  • Toasters
  • Waffle makers
  • George Foreman counter top grills
  • Spice rack with or without spices
  • Cutlery knives
  • Blender
  • Food processor
  • Fruit and vegetable juicer
  • Nutribullet
  • Paper towel and napkin holders
  • Dish washing drying rack
  • Brita water purifier – counter top pitcher or faucet attached
  • Ceramic cookie jar
  • Dry food storage containers
  • Serving bowls
  • Dishes – Porcelain, china, stoneware,…

I am sure you could probably think of more niche items associated with the kitchen that I did not even mention like glassware, coffee mugs, tea kettles, coffee bean grinders, coffee makers, and so on. Can you think of anymore? If you can, in the comments below type, KITCHEN __________ putting the name of the missing niches in the blank space.

The above picture is from the Music niche, which is another very broad niche market. Even though the above picture is of a sub niche of music, there are still many sub-sub niches one could promote. Can you find them all in the picture? Here is most of what I see.

  • Electric piano keyboards
  • Electric guitars
  • Drum kit
  • Cymbals
  • Keyboard stands
  • Amplifiers
  • Microphone
  • Microphone stand
  • Studio lighting
  • Audio and power cables
  • Musician stools
  • Sheet music holder

If you know music and especially if you have been inside of a music studio before, you can probably come up with more sub niches. When thinking about the music niche and then the sub niche of music production, do not forget about the sub-sub niche of music production software for the home computer.

The picture above is of me and a couple of my friends at a football tailgate party eating some delicious finger-food. For those of you who have never heard the term finger-food, it is the type of small food items you can eat with your fingers. How many niches both sports and non-sports can you see?

  • Team specific sports caps
  • Football jerseys
  • Timberland boots
  • Cargo shorts
  • Denim shorts
  • Denim pants
  • T-shirts
  • Folding chairs
  • Waterproof folding canopy
  • Portable table
  • Food serving tray
  • Food containers
  • Portable barbeque grill
  • Tailgating party games
  • Football
  • Beer and drink cooler
  • Cutting board and knives

ALWAYS REMEMBER TO SEE MORE THAN THERE IS

I hope these pictures and sub niches I listed for each have helped you to see the many different niches that surround us each and every day. A niche can be practically anything. If it is something that interests you that interests other people, than it is a niche. If you buy something that others buy too, it is a niche.

To get an even better look at specific broad niches and how you can break them down into smaller and more-focused sub niches, check out the training I did at the link below. I give a dozen examples of sub niches from the broader niche markets of Video Games, Computers, Weight Loss, Clothing, Shoes, Automobiles, Music, Jewelry, Coffee, and a little bit on the broad Travel and Cosmetic niche markets.

Thanks Robert,
These are great ideas. Sometimes things are just too obvious for the natural eye. Often it's not sight, but vision we need.

Exactly Vincent. We need vision and not so much sight. We need to visualize as a whole that which we see, and then the niche ideas will begin to flow.

Robert - Great post. As you pointed out there are niches everywhere, you just have to look to find them.

I'm kind of biased towards the tailgate pic. I spot an Eli jersey or two in that photo, which makes for an excellent NFL jersey niche.

Finger foods at a Giants tailgate party. It must have been an away game in LA.

Go Giants!

Thanks Patrick. Though an Eli jersey on its own would be too narrow of a niche, a niche representing all kinds of products having to do with Eli Manning would make a great niche.

As for the finger food, it was a pre-season game and we normally do not bring in the big guns of gourmet food until the regular season. ;)

Yes very true about the Eli niche. A pre-season game makes more sense now. Thanks for clarifying.:)

We just need to open our eyes and think creatively! Thanks for these great examples. I liked the camping and travel niches (of course).

Exactly Sue, we just need to think creatively when looking at niches, that are all around us 24/7/365. Naturally you would love the examples I gave for the travel and camping niches. ;)
